Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation process of an aqueous secondary dispersion liquid for a water insoluble polymer without using a surfactant. SOLUTION: The preparation process of an aqueous secondary dispersion liquid for a water insoluble polymer is characterized by performing a free radical solution polymerization in a polymerization medium, either an organic/water miscible solvent or a mixture of water and an organic/water miscible solvent, of an ethylenic unsaturated monomer M containing (i) at least one kind of monoethylenic unsaturated monomer M1 with the water solubility of 30 g/l or less at 25°C and 1 bar and (ii) at least one kind of hydrophilic and monoethylenic unsaturated nonionic comonomer M2 with the water solubility of 80 g/l or less at 25°C and 1 bar, replacing the solvent with water, and adding some amount of the monomer M as a monomer composition M' consisting essentially of the monomer M2 before completing the polymerization. The water-soluble polymer dispersion liquid is also provided and the use of the above liquid especially in pharmacology and cosmetics is specified. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of polyvinyl lactame-polyalkylene oxide block copolymers as solubilisers for poorly water-soluble substances.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of copolymers which comprise a) 60 to 99 % by weight of N-vinylcaprolactam; b) 1 to 40 % by weight of at least one monomer b) selected from the group including: b1) C8-C30 alkyl esters of monoethylenically unsaturated C3-C8 carboxylic acids; b2) N-alkyl- or N,N-dialkyl-substituted amides of the acrylic acid or the methacrylic acid with C8 to C30 alkyl groups; b3) the vinyl esters of aliphatically unbranched C8-C30 carboxylic acids; b4) the C8-C30 alkyl-vinyl ethers, as solubilizers for substances that are difficult to dissolve in water.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of copolymers obtained by radically polymerising a mixture of i) 30-80 % by weight N-vinyllactam, ii) 10-50 % by weight vinylacetate, and iii) 10-50 % by weight polyether, wherein the sum of the components i), ii) and iii) is equal to 100 % by weight as solubilisers for poorly water-soluble substances.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an active or effective substance composition containing at least one active or effective substance that is difficult to dissolve in water and at least one hyperbranched polymer.
Abstract:
The use of copolymers obtained by free-radical polymerization of a mixture of i) 30 to 80% by weight of N-vinyllactam, ii) 10 to 50% by weight of vinyl acetate, and iii) 10 to 50% by weight of a polyether, with the proviso that the total of components i), ii) and iii) equals 100% by weight, as solubilizers for slightly water-soluble substances.
Abstract:
Destruction of microorganisms in aqueous systems or in products for aqueous uses involves addition of 0.001-5 wt.% of a biocide comprising a water-soluble or -dispersible polymer containing on a molar basis (a) styrene sulfonic acid (30-100%); (b) an N-vinyllactam and/or N-vinylamine (0-40%); and (c) a further radically-polymerizable monomer (0-30%). An Independent claim is also included for antimicrobial protection of articles by applying the above biocide composition containing water or a mainly water-containing solvent mixture and then removing the water or mainly water-containing solvent mixture.
Abstract:
The invention relates to aqueous dispersions containing at least one active substance that is difficult or impossible to dissolve in water and at least one polymer which contains polyether groups as a protective colloid. Said polymer is obtained by copolymerizing (a) at least one allyl alcohol alkoxylate and (b) at least one hydrophobic monomer that is provided with aromatic functions, aliphatic functions, or aromatic and aliphatic functions.
