    Abstract: The invention relates to novel acid-free quaternised nitrogen compounds and to the production and use thereof as fuel and lubricant additives, such as in particular as detergent additives, as wax anti-settling additives (WASA) or as additives for reducing internal diesel injector deposits (IDID).
