Abstract: The invention concerns a method of coating a base with a plasma-sprayed layer with a spray powder contained in the molten state in the plasma. In the proposed process, the powder is introduced via powder feed ducts in the vicinity of the neutrode(s) or anode(s) or between the two into a channel of a plasma spray device, at least one arc being at least 20 mm in length at least some of the time and the base to be coated being a so-called continuous strip or large-surface unit of at least 0.005 m . The invention also concerns a device for coating a base, comprising a number of plasma spray devices and at least one noise-protection cabinet; the plasma spray devices each comprise at least one neutrode and at least one anode for producing an arc of at least 20 mm in length and for heating a spray powder. The spray powder is introduced in the vicinity of the anode(s) or neutrode(s) and/or between the two, and the device is provided with a device for micro-roughing the article in the form of a mechanical, physical or radiation micro-roughing unit.

Abstract: The photosensitive composition essentially contains an ester or an amide of 1,2-naphthoquinonediazidesulphonic or -carboxylic acid as light-sensitive compound, a phenol resin which is soluble in aqueous alkaline solutions but insoluble in water, as a binder, and in addition a compound which increases the light sensitivity and is of the general formula wherein X is a single bond, CH2, SO2, S, CO, C(CH3)2, CHCCl3 or . The compounds described are, for example, 4,4'-biphenyldiol, bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl) ketone, 2,2-bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propane or bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl) sulphone. The mixture is used as a layer in a light-sensitive recording material which is suitable for the production of a printing plate. Higher light sensitivity does not result in any disadvantages in the copying and printing properties.

Abstract: The invention relates to a usually positiveworking radiation-sensitive mixture which contains as essential components a binder which is insoluble in water and soluble in aqueous-alkaline solutions, a 1,2-quinone diazide and a compound which diminishes the developer solubility of the exposed regions by heat treatment, in which the compound which diminishes the developer solubility which is present is at least one urethane of the formula I: I in which R1 is hydrogen or methyl, R2 is hydrogen, alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted aryl, or substituted or unsubstituted arylaminocarbonyl, R3 is substituted or unsubstituted arylene or arylenealkylene, Q is hydrogen, -CH4-p, or -CR5R6 in which R5 and R6 can be identical or different and are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl and aryl, carbonyl, oxygen, sulfur or sulfonyl, m is 1, 2 or 3, n is at least 1 and not more than 50, and p is 1, 2 or 3. The mixture is suitable for producing a radiation-sensitive recording material which has a long shell life in combination with high radiation sensitivity and has a broad image reversal range in a process for producing relief images.
