The present invention relates to a composition for external application, containing a diamide derivative represented by the following formula (1) : (wherein R 1a and R 1b are the same or different and each represents a C 1-23 hydrocarbon group, R 2a and R 2b are the same or different and each represents a divalent C 1-6 hydrocarbon group, R 3 s are the same or different and each represents a divalent C 2-6 hydrocarbon group and n stands for 1 to 100). The composition for external application basically improves the water retaining ability and barrier functions of the horny layer, is excellent in miscibility and mixing stability and can be prepared efficiently at a low cost.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition of a preparation for external use, a humec tant and a skin barrier function reinforcing agent capable of essentially improv ing a water holding ability and barrier functions of horny layers, having excel lent formulating properties and formulation stability and efficiently producible at low cost. SOLUTION: The composition for the external use, humectant and skin barrier function reinforcing agent comprise a diamide derivative represented by the following general formula (1) (wherein, R and R are each the same or different and denote each a 1-23C hydrocarbon group; R and R are each the same or different and denote each a 1-6C bivalent hydrocarbon group; R s are each the same or different and denote each a 2-6C bivalent hydrocarbon group; and n denotes a number of 1-100).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-in-oil type emulsion cosmetic excellent in temporal stability, good in sense of use and useful for basic cosmetics by using a specific polyether-modified silicone and an oil solution in combination with a stabilizer. SOLUTION: This water-in-oil type emulsion cosmetic comprises (A) a polyether-modified silicone of the formula [R is methyl or phenyl; R' is H, a 1-5C alkyl or an acyl; (m) is 100-2,000; (n) is 1-100; (a) is 1-5; (b) and (c) are each 0-200], having >=15,000 weight average molecular weight, (B) one or more kinds selected from a silicone oil and a fluorine-base oil, (C) an oil solution having the ratio of inorganicity to organicity regulated so as to be 0, other than the component B, (D) an oil solution having the ratio of the inorganicity to the organicity regulated so as to be larger than 0, other than the component B, (E) one or more kinds of stabilizers selected from a hydroxy acid and its salts, a dicarboxylic acid and its salts, and alkaline earth metal salts of an organic acid and an inorganic acid other than them, (F) water, and further preferably (G) a hydrophobicized powder.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toothpaste composition with transparent and beautiful appearance, excellent in preservability and shape retainability, free from spinnability, and good in feeling when used. SOLUTION: This toothpaste composition >=3mm in transparency is obtained by blending (a) 10-50wt.% of a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block polymer- type nonionic surfactant, (b) 1-10wt.% of granules disintegrable on brushing and having an average size of 100-1000μm, (c) 10-40wt.% of glycerol, (d) 20-50wt.% of water, and 0.5-5wt.% of polyethylene glycol 300-800 in average molecular weight. The ingredient (b) is water-insoluble granules 100-400μm in average size and/or microcapsules 300-1000μm in average size, and combinational use of the granules with the microcapsules facilitates breakage of the latter by the former, therefore being preferable.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that estimates a skin age by extracting a specific value concerning an intercellular lipid from the spectrum of a horny layer of skin measured by noninvasive Raman spectroscopy, and by evaluating a change of a barrier function due to the aging from the specific value concerning the intercellular lipid.SOLUTION: An evaluation method of a skin age of the present invention includes the steps of: extracting a specific value concerning an intercellular lipid from the spectrum of a horny layer of a subject measured by Raman spectroscopy about a plurality of subjects; and previously finding a statistical regression line representing a correlation between the specific value concerning the intercellular lipid and the age. Then, the skin of the evaluation object person is measured by the Raman spectroscopy, and the specific value concerning the intercellular lipid is extracted. Thus, the age, which is found by checking the specific value concerning the intercellular lipid of the evaluation object person against the regression line, is determined as the skin age of the evaluation object person.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dentifrice composition excellent in flavor emission. SOLUTION: This dentifrice composition is obtained by blending (a) 10-50wt.% of a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block polymer-nonionic surfactant, (b) 0.05-2wt.% of at least one kind of anionic thickening agent selected from cellulose sulfate, carrageenan, alginic acid, polyacrylic acid and alkali metal salts thereof, and (c) 0.01-5wt.% of a perfume, and as other ingredients, according as necessary, abrasive, moisturizer, water, sweetener, medicinal-ingredient(s), antiseptic, coloring matter etc., through conventional technology. For the ingredient (a), it is preferable that the ethylene oxide accounts for >=50wt.% of the ingredient (a) as a whole, the molecular weight of the polypropylene glycol is >=1400, and the average polymerization degrees of the polyoxyethylene and polyoxypropylene are 200 and 70, respectively. The ingredient (c) is e.g. L- menthol, peppermint oil, spearmint oil, anethole, L-carvone.

PURPOSE: To obtain a composition for oral cavity especially useful as a toothpaste, having a good feeling in use, by using agar as a main component of a film forming substance of a capsule, blending the capsule with a nonionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION: This composition for oral cavity comprises a capsule containing agar as a main component of a film forming substance and a nonionic surfactant, very low in leakage of contents such as a pharmacodynamically effective component during production an preservation, is capable of stably maintaining the contents, readily releasing in the oral cavity in use and has a good feeling when used. A polyoxyethylene or a polyoxypropylene copolymer (especially preferably 1,000-15,000 average molecular weight) is preferable as the nonionic surfactant. The composition for oral cavity can be made into a desired shape such as toothpaste, liquid dentifrice, mouth wash, mouth rinse or gingiva massaging cream.

PURPOSE: To obtain a dentifrice composition excellent in property capable of readily breaking capsules in using and capable of recognizing the existence in the oral cavity and free from feeling of physical disorder and feeling of foreign matter by producing the capsules using agar as a main component of a film-forming substance and forming the capsules as proper particle diameter range coinciding with the object. CONSTITUTION: This dentifrice composition contains agar as a main component of film-forming substances and a capsule having 0.3-3mm, especially 0.5-3mm average particle diameter capable of readily being broken by brushing. The dentifrice composition has good feeling to users and good product appearance. The strength of agar jelly is preferably >=500g/cm . The coating ratio of agar to the capsule is preferably 1-30wt.%. The breakage strength of the capsule is preferably 0.1-20g/one capsule. The capsule is preferably produced by a double nozzle dropping method. The transparency of the composition is preferably >=3mm. In the composition, the capsule is readily broken and a pharmacodynamic ingredient, etc., can be released and permeated into an oral cavity by carrying out brushing. The capsule can confirm the existence by sight and gives feeling of security to persons.
