Abstract:
Provided is a composition for cancer chemoprevention comprising the extract of the seaweed Cutleria cylindrica . Specifically, the composition for cancer chemoprevention according to the present invention comprising the extract obtained by extracting Cutleria cylindrica with ethanol, which activates quinone reductase, an anticarcinogenic enzyme, is without cell toxicity, and provides cancer chemoprevention effect by inducing activation of the phase II detoxifying enzyme system although not inducing activation of the phase I detoxifying enzyme system, as active ingredient can be useful as medicine or health functional food for cancer prevention.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for prevention and treatment of diabetic complications containing the extracts of Rhus verniciflua, fractions thereof and compounds isolated therefrom as an active ingredient, more precisely a composition for prevention and treatment of diabetic complications which comprises the extracts of Rhus verniciflua extracted by using water, alcohol or a mixture thereof as a solvent, fractions thereof and compounds isolated therefrom as an active ingredient. The extracts of Rhus verniciflua extracted by- using water, alcohol or a mixture thereof as a solvent, fractions thereof and compounds isolated therefrom were confirmed to have inhibitory effect on aldose reductase causing accumulation of sorbitol which is one of major causes of diabetic complications and on advanced glycation end procuct without cytotoxicity, so that they were confirmed to be safe materials effectively used for the composition for prevention and treatment of diabetic complications.
Abstract:
Provided are a seed of new soybean cultivar SCEL-1, a plant body of the seed or a part of the plant body, and an extract obtained from the seed.
Abstract:
The present specification relates to: a vector comprising a promoter of SEQ ID NO: 1 and a human epidermal growth factor (hEGF) exon, which includes a gene coding for hEGF; microalgae transformed with the vector; a method for producing a hEGF protein and/or a PTD-hEGF protein by using the transformed microalgae; and a cosmetic composition containing the hEGF and/or PTD-hEGF protein(s) produced according to the production method. The hEGF and PTD-hEGF proteins, produced according to an aspect of the present invention, can fundamentally block the risk of endotoxicity, unlike a hEGF protein produced from conventional E. coli, thereby being usable as a raw material for eco-friendly cosmetic products.
Abstract:
The present disclosure discloses a composition for improving eye health comprising Tetraselmis sp. microalgae; a culture thereof; a crushed material thereof; or an extract of the microalgae, the culture or the crushed material as an active ingredient. The composition inhibits retinal optic nerve damage and thereby improves eye health.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a composition for anti-obesity comprising a pulverized material of Odontella aurita as an active ingredient and a method of processing Odontella aurita to improve the anti-obesity effects. The pulverized material may be a microfluidizer-processed pulverized material of Odontella aurita. The pulverized material exhibits the effect of inhibiting weight gain and the effect of inhibiting body fat accumulation in mice fed with a high-fat diet.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel promoter HASP1 for inducing overexpression of a protein in Phaeodactylum tricornutum, a signal peptide HASP1-SP, which is a novel protein secretion sequence for inducing the secretion of the expressed protein, an expression vector including the promoter HASP1 and the HASP1-SP-encoding sequence, a transformant in which the expression vector has been introduced into a host cell, a method for producing a protein of interest including a step of culturing the transformant to obtain a culture, a method for expressing a protein of interest including a step of transforming a host cell with the expression vector, and a method for increasing an expression level of a protein of interest in a host cell including a step of transforming the host cell with the expression vector. The novel promoter HASP1 for inducing overexpression of a protein in Phaeodactylum tricornutum, the signal peptide HASP1-SP, which is a novel protein secretion sequence for inducing the secretion of the expressed protein, and the expression vector including the promoter HASP1 and the HASP1-SP-encoding sequence may be used as strong genetic tools capable of significantly increasing productivity of recombinant proteins.
Abstract:
Provided are a composition and a health functional food, each including Tisochrysis lutea as an active ingredient, for preventing or treating an eye disease. The composition and the health functional food may increase tear production or may repair corneal injury, and thus may be useful in preventing, treating, or improving eye diseases.
Abstract:
Provided are a seed of new soybean cultivar SCEL-1, a plant body of the seed or a part of the plant body, and an extract obtained from the seed.
