    Abstract: PURPOSE: To enhance the control performance of the laser beam in a high magnification recursive reflector by providing a means for increasing the visibility of the input laser beam. CONSTITUTION: A converging mirror 19a reflects a conical light converged in the head to a sensor means (photo sensor) 17 along an optical path 21b through a laser beam transmission member. The photo sensor 17 has a nearly rectangular opening in order to minimize the interference between the surrounding light and the return section of the reflective laser beam, and the longitudinal side of this opening is extended along and in the scanning direction to form a nearly non-circular visual field. Further, the laser beam is controllably positioned so as to fall in this noncircular visual field. With that, the laser beam control performance of a high magnitude recursive reflector can be enhanced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To increase the focal depth as much as possible and to reduce the beam size in the focus position as much as possible by providing an optical means with a converging means and an aperture diaphragm which is arranged between a laser light source and a symbol part and closely to the converging means in the optical path. CONSTITUTION: An aperture diaphragm 56 which directly determines the beam size is arranged in the optical path of emission of laser light. The cross section of the aperture diaphragm is smaller than that of laser light in the position of the aperture diaphragm and is so constituted that a part of laser light from a laser light source 42 passes through but the other part is intercepted, and the optical system includes a converging lens 62 consisting of a piano-convex lens and the aperture diaphragm 56 which is arranged in the optical path closely to the converging lens 62. A part of the emitted laser diode beam is allowed to reach a symbol through this aperture diaphragm 56. Thus, convergence to a desired beam size is realized for a sufficient operation time by the simple constitution of the single lens.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a multiple laser scanning device enabling the scanning of a bar code mark or the like by plural laser beams. CONSTITUTION: A multiple laser scanning device is provided with a first means 12 which generates a laser beam with a specific wave length, at least another means 14 which generates a laser beam with a different wave length, means 16 which orients both laser beams to a coaxial laser beam 18, scanning mirror means which directs the coaxial laser beam 18 to information 26, and receives a light reflected by the scanned information, condensing mirror means 22 which receives a reflected light from the pertinent scanning mirror means, plural laser detectors 36 and 38, and light dividing means 34 which divides the reflected light into different beams, and introduces each beam to the laser detectors 36 and 38 which operate related with the wave length of the laser beams from the laser beam generating means 12 and 14.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To make a scanning head face a mark to be read by providing a means for generating incident laser light beams into the scanning head and an optical means guiding the beams to the mark. CONSTITUTION: When a switch is operated with a light source which can be started, a semiconductor laser diode 42, for example, one of head parts generates the incident laser light beams. The laser diode 42 is fitted to a printed circuit board 48. The optical device fitted in the head is arranged to be adjusted by the laser diode 42 so that it optically corrects the incident laser light beams and it faces a prescribed reference face in front of a projection part outside the head along a first optical path. The optical device has a long and optical cylinder 50, and a cylindrical bore 52 accepts a circular casing part and holds it so that it does not move. A lens barrel 54 is fitted so that it can move in a vertical direction. Thus, a user can easily make the scanning head turn to the mark.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To miniaturize a device by converting light of variable intensity reflected from a marker to an electric analog signal by a sensor means and converting this signal to a digital signal to transmit it. CONSTITUTION: Conical light condensed in a head 10 by a condenser mirror 19a passes a laser light-transmissive member along an optical path 21b and is reflected by the sensor means, for example, a photosensor 17. A signal processing means on a circuit board 16 processes the electric analog signal generated by the sensor 17 to generate a digitized video signal. This signal is sent to a decoding/control means 101 through a cable 15. Thus, the device is miniaturized.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To miniaturize a light condensing means and to mini-aturize also the housing of a device by moving a visual field scanning means together with a scanning mirror to oscillate the read visual field in the scanning direction synchronously with scanning of read light. CONSTITUTION: A scanning mirror 66 is attached onto a scanning means like a high-speed scanning. motor 70. The motor 70 has an output shaft 72 fixedly supporting a supporting bracket 74, and the mirror 66 is fixed onto this bracket 74. The motor 70 oscillates and rotates the shaft 72 back and forth within a desired angular range. A feedback part of reflected laser light is condensed by a spherical condenser mirror 76 to form a convergent beam in a conical condensing optical path. The mirror 76 reflects the conical convergent light into a head along an optical path 116, and this light passes a laser transmission element 78 along a second optical path and is made incident on a sensor means like a photo sensor 80. The sensor 80 is extended along the linear scanning range and detects the variable intensity of laser light condensed through a field of view beyond this range, thus generating an electric analog signal.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To minimize power consumption during the scanning with scanner by irradiating a display, which is provided with parts having different light reflection rates, with light and scanning the display by converging reflected beams returned from the display. CONSTITUTION: A scanning component 20 supported by a holder means 30 is provided, and the scanning component 20 is supported by the holder means 30 so as to be mutually vibrated in a peripheral direction between both scanning end positions around one axial line. The holder means is operated for always returning the scanning component to a standstill position between both the scanning end positions. Then, a read starting means is provided for moving the scanning component 20 in a peripheral direction from the standstill position to one scanning end position. Thus, scanning structure for scanning a bar code symbol with a little power consumption can be provided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a high-speed scanning mechanism for the scanner which reads a bar code symbol by swinging a scanning element according to a uniaxial scanning pattern or multiaxial scanning pattern. CONSTITUTION: The light beam emitted by a light source travels through a window 18 along an optical path and impinges on a display to be read, e.g. the bar code symbol. In the scanner 10, an optical detector which has a view area for collecting reflected light returning from the symbol through the window 18, e.g. a photodiode is arranged. The scanning element arranged in the scanner 10 operates to scan the symbol and/or the view area of the optical detector. The scanning element is a light reflector which is arranged in the emission and/or return path and the light reflector is swung by an electric operation type driving means at a specific frequency alternately in the circumferential direction.
