    Abstract: A valve disabling device has an engaging member and an urging member slidably disposed, respectively, in first and second axial bores formed within, respectively, first and second rocker arm means, one of which engages a valve actuating cam. The engaging member is displaceable within the first axial bore by means of pressure applying means, into the second axial bore for driving coupling of the first and second rocker arm means whereby a pair of inlet valves or exhaust valves corresponding to the first and second rocker arm means make valving motions in unison with each other, or out of the second axial bore for disconnection of the first and second rocker arm means from each other to disable part of the valves. Biasing means biases the engaging member into the second axial bore irrespective of operation of the pressure applying means, to correspondingly bias the urging member into a predetermined position where a portion thereof is projected out of the second axial bore. Retaining means holds the urging member in the predetermined position, thus drivingly coupling the two rocker arm means.

    Abstract: A valve stem height gauge adapted to seat on the engine head and to circumferentially surround a valve stem projecting through the head includes a hollow cylindrical sleeve element having an internally threaded reduced external diameter end portion, a hollow cylindrical jacket element having an externally threaded cylindrical member adapted to be threadably received within the reduced diameter portion and a shirt member circumferentially enclosing and depending from the upper end portion of the cylindrical member to define therewith an open bottom annular space for receiving the reduced diameter portion therein, and diametrically opposed, axially extending slots in the periphery of the upper end portion of the jacket element for aligning the end of the valve stem therewith. The elements of the gauge are adapted to be threadably movable in an axial plane to and away from each other thereby adjusting the overall length of the gauge. Indicia are provided on the elements to indicate the gauge length.

    Abstract: An engine servicing system includes a motorcycle that has an engine. The engine has a cylinder head, an intake valve and an exhaust valve. A mount is provided and the mount is selectively coupled to the cylinder head. A plurality of bolts is provided and each of the bolts extends through the mount and engages the cylinder head at predetermined points on the cylinder head to retain the mount on the cylinder head. A compression unit is provided and the compression unit is removably coupled to the mount. The compression unit engages each of the intake valve and the exhaust valve such that the compression unit selectively compresses each of the intake valve and the exhaust valve. In this way each of the intake valve and the exhaust valve may be serviced while the engine is mounted in the motorcycle and without removing the cylinder head from the engine.
