Abstract:
A circuit board for receiving and operably connecting a plurality of electrical components generally comprises: a flexible substrate of a predetermined length and having a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge; a conductive trace applied to the flexible substrate; and a plurality of integral tabs arrayed along the first lateral edge, one or more electrical components being operably connected to the conductive trace at a respective tab, and wherein each tab can be manipulated from a first position in which the tab is aligned with the remainder of the substrate to a second position in which the tab is oriented at an angle relative to the remainder of the substrate.
Abstract:
A circuit board arrangement includes a first printed circuit board having a first edge connector and a second printed circuit board having a second edge connector. The first edge connector includes a plurality of fingers, with each finger having at least one first conductor pad. The second edge connector includes a plurality of openings positioned generally in line with each other and a plurality of second conductor pads. Each opening has a corresponding finger positioned therein. Each second conductor pad is positioned adjacent a corresponding opening and corresponding first conductor pad.
Abstract:
An assembly comprises a flex circuit including a first set of electrical contacts on a first side of the flex circuit and a compliant support backing adjacent a second side of the flex circuit and opposite the set of electrical contacts. The first set of electrical contacts is configured to connect to a second set of electrical contacts on an electronic component. The compliant support backing includes a set of support elements that individually support the first set of electrical contacts to increase the contact pressure between the first set of electrical contacts and the second set of electrical contacts when the flex circuit is connected to the electronic component. Embodiments may provide robust electrical contracts which provide a reliable connection useful for testing electronic components, such as head gimbal assemblies.
Abstract:
