Abstract:
This invention relates to a self leveling walker to assist persons who have insufficient strength or movement in their legs when standing and walking on uneven surfaces, and for traversing ramps and stairs. The inventive self leveling walker includes a frame assembly with a leveling assembly for adapting the relative length of the four legs of the walker to accommodate a substantially constant level of the walker so that the user may maintain an erect standing posture at all times, without the need to lean forward or back to accommodate uneven surfaces. The invention employs a fluid or gas based circuit between the front and back walker legs on each respective side, so as to shorten or lengthen each front and back leg with respect to each other, thereby maintaining the overall level of the walker on the subject surface being traversed.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a walk-assistive apparatus and a method of controlling the walk-assistive apparatus. The walk-assistive apparatus includes at least one joint that corresponds to at least one joint of a wearer, at least one link that connects the joint, and is rotated in response to rotation of the joint, a spring that is mounted in the link or the joint so that a length of the spring is changed in accordance with rotation of the link or the joint, and a processor that controls the change in the length of the spring to compensate for a weight by gravity when the wearer walks.Accordingly, the walk-assistive apparatus and the method of controlling the walk-assistive apparatus may use a mechanical element such as a spring to reduce energy, and weight compensation having uniform performance may be performed even in an arbitrary posture.
Abstract:
A tilting inversion exerciser includes a carrier pivotally attached to a supporting stand for mounting a supporting table and for supporting a user, the supporting table includes a number of grooves, and a massage member is engaged with either of the grooves of the supporting table for attaching to the supporting table and for selectively engaging with the user to selectively massage the user. The massage member includes a catch engageable through the grooves of the supporting table for attaching to the supporting table, the catch is coupled to the massage member with a reduced neck member. The catch includes a length (L) greater than the width (D) of the grooves of the supporting table for engaging with the supporting table.
Abstract:
A hidden braking assembly provides a connecting unit disposed inside a main frame. The connecting unit comprises an upper stem connected to a brake handle, a lower stem connected to a brake unit, and an adjusting set fixed to the lower stem and penetrated by the upper stem. A locking part of the adjusting set is operated to quickly adjust a telescoping length of an upper and a lower frame of the main frame. The connecting unit is synchronically adjusted during the adjustment of the upper frame and the lower frame. After the adjustment, the locking part is fixed to a body part of the adjusting set so that the two frames and the two stems can be firmly positioned, thereby facilitating a rapid adjustment of the telescoping length of the main frame and the connecting unit, increasing a using convenience, and attaining a stable braking effect.
Abstract:
Apparatus and associated methods relate to a knee-position control system having a knee engagement pad, a lower-leg control member and an upper-leg control member, the knee engagement pad configured to naturally position a user's knee in response to movement of a foot-rest of a natural-gait therapy system. In an illustrative embodiment, the upper-leg control member may pivot about a point substantially axially coincident with a user's hip. In some embodiments, the upper-leg control member may be pivotally coupled to the lower-leg control member at a pivot point substantially axially coincident with a user's knee. The lower-leg control member may be pivotably coupled to the foot rest at a pivot point substantially axially coincident with a user's ankle. The knee-position control system may advantageously position a user's knee in a natural position relative to both the user's ankle and the user's hip, in response to movement of the user's foot.
Abstract:
Many known portable tissue stretching devices do not properly allow the user to control the treatment intensity because of the need to reposition one's hands on the device when increasing stretch intensity. Some known portable tissue stretching devices are not readily held with two hands due to the small gripping surface. The limitations of these devices often leads to decreased home exercise compliance thereby negatively affecting patient outcomes. Medical professionals have widely accepted the notion that patient compliance with home exercises is poor. A handheld tissue stretching device with left and right handles, a retractor and release mechanism provides numerous benefits, such as improved ease of use and increased home exercise compliance. Individuals now have the option to independently and reliably improve their flexibility with a bilateral grip that does not require changing hand position while stretching.
Abstract:
A crutch includes: a handgrip (2) extending along a first axis (AA1); a forearm support (3), provided with a stem (3b) which extends along a second axis (AA2) and is connected to a rear end (2a) of the handgrip (2); a support pole (4), extending along a third axis (AA3) and connected to a front end (2a) of the handgrip (2); and adjusting members (5), configured to adjust an angular position of at least one of the support pole (4) and the forearm support (3) with respect to the handgrip (2).
Abstract:
A sexual stimulation device for a female user is provided. The stimulation device includes a first pad with a first width dimension configured for placement against a pubic area of the user and a second pad with a second width dimension configured for placement inside a vagina of the user without significant obstruction. The stimulation device also includes a first vibrating motor placed into the first pad. The stimulation device further includes a connecting member with a third width dimension for connecting the first pad and the second pad and configured to maintain a bending angle between the first pad and the second pad set by the user. The first width dimension, the second width dimension, and the third width dimension are substantially similar. The first pad moves driven by the first vibrating motor.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an adjustable bed handheld remote control that may include a handheld housing, a touch sensor on a front face of the handheld housing, a transmitter and the like. The touch sensor may be presented in a slider form and may be adapted to facilitate a user in adjusting a frame position of an adjustable bed. The transmitter may be electrically coupled to a processor and may receive input from the touch sensor, for communication control signals to the adjustable bed in accordance with the input received from the touch sensor.
