Abstract: The present disclosure provides a multi-parameter calibration system for a spectrometer based on a nanosecond light source, including a main channel for outputting nuclear pulse signals, and a coincidence channel for outputting the nuclear pulse signals. Each channel uses current nuclear pulse signals to drive a light-emitting diode (LED) to emit nuclear pulse optical signals, and a simulated scintillator is irradiated to emit nanosecond nuclear pulse optical signals. The present disclosure can respectively test and calibrate multiple parameter performance indexes of the spectrometer throughput baseline restoration spectrometer. The stability of the spectrometer is tested and calibrated through output of certain regular nuclear pulse signals.

Abstract: A spectrometer apparatus is disclosed that includes at least one light source for irradiating a sample with light, an optical detection device for detecting light scattered by the sample, at least one optical filter device, which is arranged in front of and/or behind the sample, a contact sensor device for determining a contact between the sample and the spectrometer apparatus and for outputting a corresponding output signal, a control device for controlling the light source and the detection device in response to the output signal. The control device is designed such that the control device modifies at least one operating parameter of the light source and the detection device, when the output signal indicates the contact between the sample and the spectrometer apparatus. A method for operating a spectrometer apparatus is disclosed as well.

Abstract: An apparatus for estimating a concentration of an analyte includes an optical sensor configured to emit light toward an object and receive light reflected from the object; and a processor configured to obtain a ratio of an absorption coefficient to a scattering coefficient based on the received light, obtain a first absorption spectrum of the object based on the obtained ratio, obtain a second absorption spectrum by eliminating a scattering correction spectrum from the first absorption spectrum, the scattering correction spectrum corresponding to a nonlinear change in the scattering coefficient according to a wavelength of the emitted light, and estimate a concentration of an analyte based on the second absorption spectrum.

Abstract: An integrated optical spectrometer includes an optical bus configured to accept a light to be measured. Each ring resonator of an array of integrated ring resonators and detectors is optically coupled to the optical bus and to at least one detector. A matrix multiplication process is operatively coupled to each detector. The matrix multiplication process determines based on data from the array of integrated ring resonators and detectors and a calibration matrix of the array of integrated ring resonators and detectors, a spectral content of the light to be measured. The spectrograph includes a grating that divides a beam of scattered light into a spectrum of spatially separated wavelength components and to direct a portion of the spectrum to a detector. The spectrograph includes: 1) a first lens system for focusing the portion of the spectrum onto the detector and 2) a second lens system-configured to provide a focal plane with focal point in the optical path for focusing the beam of excitation radiation and/or the beam of scattered radiation at the focal point. The apparatus including a reference sample arranged in the focal plane, in particular at the focal point, for obtaining a reference spectrum from the reference sample.

In one particular example, a spectrometer is provided that includes a light source, a detector and an optical system. In this implementation, the light source is configured to provide an excitation incident beam. The detector is configured to detect a spectroscopy signal. The optical system is configured to direct the excitation incident beam toward a sample at a non-zero angle from a zero-angle reference. The optical system is further configured to receive a spectroscopy signal from the sample and provide the spectroscopy signal to the detector. The detector is configured to remove a spectral interference component of the spectroscopy signal.
