Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a coated low-friction medical device, such as low-friction medical tubing, including applying a coating to one or more selected portions of a surface of low-friction medical tubing to indicate at least one marking formed along the surface of the low-friction medical tubing, and simultaneously or substantially simultaneously: (a) curing the applied coating to a designated temperature (which is above the temperature at which the low-friction medical tubing begins to decompose and shrink) to adhere the applied coating to the surface of the low-friction medical tubing, (b) utilizing one or more anti-shrinking devices to counteract or otherwise inhibit the shrinking of the low-friction medical tubing, and (c) exhausting any harmful byproducts resulting from curing the low-friction medical tubing to a temperate above the temperature at which the low-friction medical tubing begins to decompose.
Abstract:
A balloon coating method is disclosed, which includes an application step in which, where a flexible dispensing tube for supplying a coating solution containing the water-insoluble drug and a solvent is formed at its end portion with an opening portion for discharging the coating solution therethrough and when the opening portion-formed end portion side of the dispensing tube is kept in contact with the outer surface of the balloon in such a manner as to be oriented in a direction opposite to a rotating direction of the balloon while the balloon is rotated about an axis of the balloon, the coating solution is discharged through the opening portion and applied to the outer surface of the balloon while the dispensing tube is moved relative to the balloon in an axial direction X of the balloon.
Abstract:
A method for painting with a plurality of colors at least an article of manufacture, preferably a thermoplastic article of manufacture for the perfumery and cosmetic field, each color of said plurality of colors being that of a respective paint of a corresponding plurality of paints, said method comprising at least the operating steps of: a) providing said at least an article of manufacture in a condition suitable for painting; b) providing a plurality of painting guns arranged in a succession in a painting tunnel and each being adapted to apply a paint of a said respective color of said plurality of colors; c) orienting said at least an article of manufacture with respect to said plurality of painting guns.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for coating a vascular endoprosthesis, wherein the outside of the vascular endoprosthesis is wetted at least partially with a first solution of an active substance, the vascular endoprosthesis is moved in a rotational movement about the longitudinal axis of the vascular endoprosthesis, and a radially acting mechanical force is applied to the outside of the vascular endoprosthesis. The rotational movement has the effect that the solution is carried outward by the centrifugal force, such that no active substance deposits in the interior of the vascular endoprosthesis. The application of a mechanical force to the outside of the vascular endoprosthesis then has the effect of creating crystallization nuclei, such that the active substance can crystallize out.
Abstract:
An abrasion resistant multilayer liner for metal substrates with exceptional resistance to delamination, corrosion and physical wear comprises an epoxy layer formed by curing a phenolic epoxy resin with a curative comprising an anhydride adhered or bonded to a surface of the metal substrate, and an elastomeric polyurethane layer adhered or bonded to the epoxy layer. Metal surfaces lined with the inventive liner meet standards established for transport of oil sands slurries.

Abstract:
A process for coating inside a container includes rotating the container about its imaginary vertical axis while simultaneously lowering airless spray nozzles along the vertical axis of the container into the cavity through the opening end and moving the nozzles back up and out of the container. Spray nozzles are used to apply a liquid coating at a spray pressure of about 100 to about 800 psi (6.89 to 55.16 bar) and at an angle of about 0 to about 120 degrees relative to the vertical axis, simultaneously with nozzle movement, to at least a portion of the inner surface while the container is rotating and the nozzles are moving along the vertical axis. The container is thereby coated on its inner surface to form an internally coated container.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for finishing a composite floor. The apparatus includes a grouting pan configured to be affixed to the rotating head of a finishing machine. The grouting pan has a planar bottom surface and curved sidewall. Grouting pans are rotated over a prepped surface such that the curved sidewalls trowel the mortar onto the rough composite surface and the bottom surface which is in contact with the prepped floor forces the mortar into the surface voids.

Abstract:
An outer periphery coating method of honeycomb structure has coating steps where the honeycomb structure including a ring-like bulge portion is rotated; a coating member is brought into contact with a side surface of the honeycomb structure by pressing a side edge portion of a spatula via a rubber sheet, the coating member including the plate-like spatula in which a specific cut portion is formed in the one side edge portion and the side edge portion provided with the cut portion is an inclined surface inclined on a coating surface side, and the rubber sheet in which a cut is formed so that an end surface of the end portion is parallel to a back surface of the spatula when the end portion is bent along the side edge portion of the spatula; and a slurry coating material is supplied to the side surface of the honeycomb structure.
