Abstract: A UV radiation sensor that includes an area that is filled with a dielectric material, the area comprises a first portion of a first thickness and a second trench portion with dielectric of a second thickness, wherein the first thickness is smaller than the second thickness; a floating gate that comprises a first floating gate portion that is positioned above the first area portion and a second floating gate portion that is positioned above the trench portion, wherein the second floating gate portion comprises multiple segments, wherein there are one or more gaps between two or more of the multiple segments; a charging element for charging the floating gate; and a readout element for reading the floating gate.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein facilitates the monitoring of direct ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation exposure by a person via a system having a sensor (such as Lanthanum doped lead zirconate titanate (PLZT) thin-film sensors or other ferroelectric-based sensors) sensitive to UVB radiation. The system beneficially provides current real-time dosage information associated with Vitamin D production by the person as well as real-time indication of safe exposure and/or harmful exposure to current UVB radiation conditions while also, in some embodiments, takes into consideration a person's age, skin type and sensitivity, body surface area exposed.

Abstract: An anti-copy electronic device contains: a wireless signal controller having a sensor, and the wireless signal controller and the sensor are accommodated in a casing. The sensor has humidity detection, pressure detection, lights detection, color temperature detection, ultraviolet (UV) detection, and special gases detection in an interior space of the casing. After the casing is removed, the sensor detects a change of humidity, pressure, lights, color temperature, ultraviolet (UV), and special gases in the interior space and sends an indication signal to the wireless signal controller so that the wireless signal controller destroys a password setting program of the wireless signal controller, thus avoiding copy of the password setting program.

Abstract: A sterilization system consisting of a mobile emitter, a sensing subsystem and a data logging subsystem is described. The emitter has one or more UV emitting lamps or devices. The sensing system comprises at least one remote UV sensor and at least one door sensor. The door sensor comprises a safety shut off door detector and may contain an emergency stop detector and arming detector to protect people from being exposed to UV energy. The system has a remote control for starting, stopping and setting system parameters which include but are not limited to: treatment time, dosage, room size, room number, unit number, floor, facility name, operator name, operator identification number, password, default dosage values, dosage, and patient identification number. The number of treatments per unit of time can be maximized because of the use of incident light measurement.

Abstract: A UV exposure dosimetry system includes at least one UV sensor that measures the UV irradiance intensity. The system can generate extrapolated UV intensity data based on measured UV intensity data to correct unreliable UV measurement due to inconsistent irradiation of UV light. The system integrates the extrapolated UV intensity data over time to calculate real-time UV dosage and vitamin D production by taking into account factors including UV sensor location, body surface area, clothing coverage, and sunscreen usage. Based on the measurement, the system can predict the time remaining to skin burn and the time remaining to reach daily goal of vitamin D production. The system is also adapted to measure sun exposure time based on the corrected UV intensity over a period of time. The UV dosimetry system supports multi-user control through an advanced and user friendly input and output interface.
