Exemplary pressurization and coating systems, methods, and apparatuses are described herein. In certain embodiments, pressurization systems, methods, and apparatuses are used in conjunction with coating systems, methods, and apparatuses to control pressure about a substrate after a coating material is applied to a surface of the substrate. An exemplary system includes a die tool configured to apply a coating material to a substrate passing through the die tool and a pressurization apparatus attached to the die tool and forming a pressurization chamber. The pressurization apparatus is configured to receive the substrate from the die tool and control pressure about the substrate in the pressurization chamber. In certain embodiments, the die tool forms a coating chamber and is configure,d to apply the coating material on at least one surface of the substrate in the coating chamber.

There are provided processes for manufacturing trim boards. The processes can comprise applying a thin layer comprising a solvent based alkyd based primer sealer on at least one surface of the trim board; heat drying the thin layer so as to at least partially cure the thin layer comprising the solvent based alkyd based primer sealer; cooling the at least one surface; and applying a thin layer comprising a sealer on the thin layer comprising the solvent based alkyd based primer sealer. There are also provided methods for reducing and/or preventing migration of tannins in pine wood.

A method for manufacturing coated panels of the type including at least a substrate and a top layer with a motif, the top layer being provided on the substrate, the method may involve at least two steps. A first step may involve providing a synthetic material layer on the substrate. And a second subsequent step, may involve providing a relief on the surface of the synthetic material layer. The relief may include a pattern of recesses and/or projections. the pattern may be at least partially determined by one or more prints.

A piling is supported substantially horizontally upon a carrier including at least two pairs of roller wheels on at least two separate bases spaced from each other and with the piling resting upon the roller wheels. A two part spray head mixes and sprays a coating material, such as a PTMEG type material, onto a lateral surface of the piling. Elongate spray passes are followed by partial rotation of the piling upon the roller wheels and further spray passes until a full layer of coating is applied. After early layers of coating material have been applied to the piling, a squeegee is passed longitudinally against the surface while pressing against the surface, to cause a tight bond. Thereafter, additional layers of coating material are applied to achieve the desired thickness for the overall coating. Finally, the outermost surface is worked with a squeegee to produce a desired surface finish.

A polymer reinforced wooden hive can comprise a wooden hive box built with joints and having an exterior surface, and interior surface, and at least one rim for receiving a hive top or a hive bottom. A continuous polymeric coating applied to the exterior surface, and optionally the rim and/or the interior surface. The continuous polymeric coating can provide mechanical reinforcement to the joints, strengthening the wooden hive box. Hive tops and hive bottoms can also be included as part of the polymer reinforced wooden hives, and can likewise be coated with a continuous polymeric coating.

The present invention relates to an improved printed image for the décor of a panel. Furthermore the invention relates to a method for imprinting plates, in particular wall, ceiling or floor panels. The method thereby comprises the following steps: (i) Providing a plate; (ii) applying a primer by means of a liquid curtain of coating material on/to a main surface of the plate; (iii) optionally drying and/or curing the primer; (iv) treating the surface of the primer by means of at least one of the following measures: a) corona treatment; b) plasma treatment; c) applying an oil in an aqueous dilution and (v) applying a decorative décor.

The present invention provides a method of powder coating a heat-sensitive item having an edge, which includes sealing the edge against moisture loss from the item, applying powder to a surface of the item, and curing the powder. The present invention also provides another method of powder coating a heat-sensitive item, the method including applying a powder to a surface of the item, heating the surface in a melting stage for between about 60 seconds and about 90 seconds such that the surface has a surface temperature that reaches a maximum that is above a curing temperature to melt the powder, and heating the surface in a curing stage to maintain the surface temperature at the curing temperature for between about 120 seconds and about 180 seconds to cure the powder.
