Abstract:
An air cap for keeping a spray nozzle with a flat spray clean is presented. The air cap contain the nozzle and has a slit for the spray from the nozzle, through which opening an air flow is flowing in the same direction as the flat spray from the nozzle. The air cap is divided into a back component comprising an internal thread, and a front component comprising the slit. The components are rotatable relative to one another.
Abstract:
A thermal spray device for applying powder and polymer coatings, to large areas by means of a staged double or triple Venturi oriented at the distal end to produce a compression wave is described. The spray patterns produced by the nozzles can range from about three inches to about nine inches. The gun is designed so that the front-end nozzles are interchangeable with other front-end nozzles so as to allow for quick changes between nozzles designed to cover different coverage areas. The lightweight compact design allows for comfort and high portability.

Abstract:
A nozzle particularly for atomizing a liquid, comprising a cylindrical body provided with a first axial channel for feeding the liquid and with second axial channels for feeding air, a covering element being associable with the cylindrical body. A hollow dome protrudes from the cylindrical body and is connected to the first channel and to an upper opening; a shank protrudes radially from the dome and has a plurality of ducts connected to the second channels. The covering element is shaped approximately complementarily to the dome, so as to form a chamber that is connected to the outside through a plurality of holes and/or lateral slots.
Abstract:
A liquid coating nozzle is provided with a first block which has an inner liquid reserving section that extends in the longitudinal direction and an inner discharge section which includes a plurality of small holes formed in the longitudinal direction at a bottom portion of the liquid reserving section. The nozzle is also provided with a second block which has an inner space defining a gas reserving section that extends in the longitudinal direction outside the first block and an outer discharge section formed in the longitudinal direction at a bottom portion of the inner space. The outer discharge section includes a plurality of small holes and produces a gas flow that externally surrounds a linear or curtain-shaped liquid flow that flows downward from the small holes. This results in the formation of a thin coating film in a short time and reduces the consumption of liquid and coating nonuniformities.
Abstract:
There is claimed a method for depositing fluid material from a linear nozzle in a substantially uniform manner across and along a surface. The method includes directing gaseous medium through said nozzle to provide a gaseous stream at the nozzle exit that entrains fluid material supplied to the nozzle, said gaseous stream being provided with a velocity profile across the nozzle width that compensates for the gaseous medium's tendency to assume an axisymmetric configuration after leaving the nozzle and before reaching the surface. There is also claimed a nozzle divided into respective side-by-side zones, or preferably chambers, through which a gaseous stream can be delivered in various velocity profiles across the width of said nozzle to compensate for the tendency of this gaseous medium to assume an axisymmetric configuration.
Abstract:
A slot nozzle die for use with a coating dispenser includes a first die body having a tapered projection and a deflectable tab member horizontally spaced from the tapered projection to define a die seat therebetween. A second die body having a tapered projection is slidably received in the die seat formed in the first die body. The tapered projections of the first and second die bodies define an extrusion slot therebetween which receives coating material from the coating dispenser. A pair of air blocks are respectively mounted to lower ends of each die body to define a pair of air channels disposed at an angle relative to the extrusion slot. One of the air blocks is slidably received intermediate the deflectable tab member and the tapered projection of the second die body and cooperates with the deflectable tab member for translating the tapered projection of the second die body toward the tapered projection of the first die body to seal the first and second die bodies.
Abstract:
A nozzle for application of fluent material to a receiving surface. The nozzle allows for introduction of compressed air at locations along the length of the nozzle via multiple sets of plural air conduits. Individual conduits are angled toward a nozzle outlet. Further disclosed is the nozzle in an automated finish material delivery system capable of multi-dimensional translation along the receiving surface. The System nozzle can also be angled With respect to the receiving surface. A controller manages the operation of the delivery system. A tracked vehicle carries the controller, an air compressor, a pump, a generator, and a hoist. A number of sensors provide feedback regarding the operating condition of the system.
Abstract:
Apparatus for dispensing a material, such as by meltblowing, wherein the apparatus provides a flow of air in a first direction and a flow of material in a second direction at an angle with respect to the first direction, and wherein the air flow contacts the material flow and propels the material in a direction substantially parallel to the first direction of the air flow for deposition on a desired substrate.
Abstract:
A spray device is described in which the water spray from a water chamber is supplied to a spray head by cylindrical tubes inducing a head loss. The water from the tubes is guided by additional tubes into a water outlet channel forming a continuous slot. Water ejection mechanism are mounted on either side of the slot and in the air conduits. The water ejection mechanism are formed by vanes in which the flow of spray water is guided perpendicularly to the surface of the item to be treated. The vanes, which are segment shaped, are placed end to end along the length of the slot and form converging conduits for the air, ending in rectangular slot openings. A second embodiment is given for a vertical jet spray.
