Abstract:
Disclosed is a composite pellet used as a raw material in a kiln process for the production of phosphoric acid, which is of a core-shell structure with an inner ball encapsulated with a shell, the inner ball mainly consists of a inner ball material and a binding agent, and the shell mainly consists of a cladding material and a binding agent; the inner ball material mainly consists of a carbonaceous reductant powder, and phosphate ore powder and silica powder, the inner ball is combined with the shell through the binding agent to form the core-shell shaped structure. The preparation of the composite pellets comprises the steps of preparing the inner ball, preparing the cladding material, forming, drying and solidifying composite green pellets etc. The composite pellets prepared by the present invention have a smaller range of formulation fluctuation, more stable quality, higher strength and better performance.
Abstract:
A composite fiber may include at least one reinforcing filament formed of a first material. A second material maybe systematically deposited in a printed onto the at least one reinforcing filament such that at least one of a length, a width, and a thickness of the second material varies across a surface of the at least one reinforcing filament. The printed pattern may alter one or more properties of a composite structure containing the composite fiber.
Abstract:
Provided are methods for forming polymer-infiltrated nanoparticle films by using capillary action to draw mobile molecular chains into the pores of a bed of nanoparticles. The chains can spread across the entire bed of nanoparticles. The disclosed methods also provide the formation of patterned polymer-infiltrated nanoparticle film compositions, as well as laterally graded compositions and compositions that feature a polymer gradient through the composition's thickness. Articles can be formed that include a plurality of polymer types infiltrated into the bed of nanoparticles.
Abstract:
Reflectin proteins are proteins derived from cephalopods (certain species of squid) which have unusual optical properties. Disclosed herein are thin films of reflectin proteins which can be tuned to reflect infrared light. Advantageously, the films can be tuned dynamically over short time scales, to reflect at different wavelengths. Disclosed herein are novel infrared-reflective coatings, methods of making such coatings, and infrared-reflective objects such as textiles, building materials, and camouflage materials.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a multilayer coating film made from a natural material and a method of producing the same. The multilayer coating film may be produced by forming a multilayer coating film through formation of a color coating film for providing adhesion and color to a cork on the cork material and a clear coating film for realizing texture and supplementing properties on the color coating film. As such, the multilayer coating film may be made from a natural material to diversify the color and gloss of cork as a natural material, to additionally increase marketability of an interior material and provide various appearance, to prevent discoloration due to light (e.g. UV light.) and water permeation, and to enhance durability against abrasion, scratches and the like.
Abstract:
Kits and methods are provided for color customization of articles by applying ink to regions of decreased pigment density. By creating tension over these regions during application of the ink, the ink may be preferentially transferred to those regions.

Abstract:
A permeation system for permeating a wetting agent into fabric includes a fabric supply part; a permeation part provided with a permeation device and a height adjustment device; a drying part; and a collecting part for winding the fabric, which has passed through the drying part, around a collecting roll, thereby obtaining functional fabric of uniform quality and increasing productivity of the fabric into which the wetting agent is permeated. A method for manufacturing fabric includes adjusting the height of the permeation paddle contacting the fabric; supplying the fabric; supplying a wetting agent to be permeated into the fabric; rotating the permeation roller and the permeation paddle to permeate the wetting agent into the fabric; drying the fabric into which the wetting agent is permeated; and collecting the fabric.
Abstract:
An electrowetting display device includes a picture element having a first support plate and a second support plate. A surface of a second layer of the first support plate is non-planar and has a shape at least partly corresponding with a pattern of a first layer of the first support plate.
Abstract:
A die and method for impregnating at least one fiber roving with a polymer resin are disclosed. The die includes an impregnation section. The impregnation section includes an impregnation zone configured to impregnate the roving with the resin. The impregnation zone includes a plurality of contact surfaces. At least one of the plurality of contact surfaces is configured such that a normal force of the roving is less than or equal to a lift force of the resin at an impregnation location on the contact surface during impregnation of the roving with the resin by the contact surface.
