Abstract: A spray ionization device is provided with: a first tube body having a first flow channel through which a first fluid can flow, and having, at one end thereof, a first outlet for spraying the first liquid; a second tube body having a second flow channel through which a second fluid can flow, and having, at one end thereof, a second outlet for spraying the second liquid; an outer tube that has a gas flow channel through which a gas can flow, the outer tube having, at one end thereof, a spray port that is covered with a porous member; and an electrode that is provided between the first flow channel, the second channel, and the first outlet or the second outlet and the porous member, the electrode allowing for a voltage to be applied to the first liquid and/or the second liquid by a power source.

Abstract: An object is to mix multiple liquids sufficiently and then nebulize the mixed liquids while maintaining the nebulizing efficiency. A nebulizer includes a first inner tube disposed inside an outer tube and having therein a first sample passage through which a first liquid sample flows, a second inner tube disposed inside the outer tube in parallel with the first inner tube and having therein a second sample passage through which a second liquid sample flows, a membranous member disposed with a gap between the membranous member and sample outlets formed at respective ends of the inner tubes. The gap forms mixing space in which a gas passing through a gas passage converts the first and second liquid samples flowing out of the sample outlets into droplets and mixes the droplets and the membranous member has multiple holes through which the mixed liquid samples pass along with the gas.

Abstract: Provided in the present disclosure is a spray ionization device comprising: a first tube that has a first flow path in which a liquid can flow, the first tube having a first outlet on one end thereof from which the liquid is sprayed; a second tube that surrounds the first tube with a gap therebetween and has a second flow path in which a gas can flow, the second tube having a second outlet on the one end thereof and the second flow path being defined by the outer peripheral surface of the first tube and the inner peripheral surface of the second tube; and an electrode contacting the liquid flowing through the first flow path, the electrode being able to apply a voltage to the liquid by means of a power source connected to the electrode, wherein charged droplets of the liquid can be sprayed from the second outlet.

The second channel is defined by the outer circumferential face of the liquid supply tube and the inner circumferential face of the gas supply tube and has a narrow portion upstream of the outlet.

Abstract: The present invention provides a plasma torch which comprises: a first pipe having a first flow channel through which a liquid can flow, a first exit through which the liquid is sprayed being provided on an one end side; a second pipe body that surrounds the first pipe body, and has a second flow channel through which a gas can flow, a second exit through which the gas is sprayed being provided on the one end side; and an electrode extending into the second flow channel. The second exit is provided further to the one end side than the first exit, some of the inner peripheral surface of the second pipe decreases in diameter towards the second exit, and the diameter of the inner peripheral surface closer to the second exit than the first exit is equal to or larger than the opening diameter of the first exit.

Charged droplets can be sprayed from the second outlet by applying an electric field to droplets sprayed from the first outlet using a power supply connected to the electrode.

Abstract: A nebulizer characterized in being provided with: an inner tube, which is disposed coaxially with an outer tube in which a nebulizing outlet is formed and which, together with the outer tube, forms a gas channel therebetween; a sample channel, which is formed inside the inner tube and through which a liquid sample to be nebulized flows; and a reticular membrane disposed with a gap from the sample outlet that is formed at one end of the inner tube and in which multiple holes, through which liquid sample drops flowing out from the sample outlet pass along with a gas, are formed. Using the nebulizer, the particle size of the nebulized liquid droplets can be made uniformly fine over a broad range of sample liquid flow volumes while retention of sample liquid in the nebulizer is reduced.
