    Abstract: A gas-liquid separator includes a reception port to which a sample is supplied, a gas flow pipe through which gas in the sample supplied to the reception port is sent to the outside, a storage pipe where liquid in the sample supplied to the reception port is stored, and a waste solution disposition port for disposition of liquid stored in the storage pipe to the outside. The storage pipe includes a first storage portion that communicates with the reception port and is arranged in an area vertically below the reception port, a second storage portion that communicates with the waste solution disposition port and is arranged in an area vertically below the waste solution disposition port, and a communication portion that allows communication between a vertically lower end of the first storage portion and a vertically lower end of the second storage portion.

    Abstract: In a mass spectrometer provided with a measurement section (1) including a collision cell (17) and a mass separator (20-23) for a mass spectrometric analysis of product ions, a CES-method-condition determiner (321) determines collision-energy (CE) values for a collision energy spread (CES) method according to given conditions including the range and number of CE values, in such a manner that n+1 CE values to be used when the number is n+1 (where n is an integer equal to or greater than three) include n collision-energy values used when the number is n and one additional CE value different from the n CE values. An analysis controller (30) sequentially changes the collision energy to the n+1 CE values and controls the measurement section to execute an MS/MS analysis under each CE value. A data processor (33) obtains a cumulative mass spectrum by accumulating mass spectra respectively obtained under different CE values.

    Abstract: The other end of an individual sample supply channel one end of which is connected to a gas buffer container the inside of which is empty is connected to one sub-port of a valve that selects one of standard samples to be supplied to an ESI probe. During analysis, the standard sample stored in one of liquid sample containers is selected by switching a connection state of the valve. The standard sample supplied by being pushed by a gas sent to the liquid sample containers through liquid supply gas branch channels is sent to the ESI probe through a sample supply main channel. At the time of finishing analysis, when the valve is switched such that the sub-port and a main port are communicatively connected, a nitrogen gas is sent to the sample supply main channel, and the remaining liquid is discharged.

    Abstract: When a Q-TOF type mass spectrometer is operated in an MS1 mode, a controller (40), at the time of measurement, controls voltage generators (31 to 33) such that only a V voltage (radio-frequency voltage for mass separation) and a direct-current bias voltage are applied to main rod electrodes of a quadrupole mass filter (12) without application of a U voltage (direct-current voltage for mass separation). During a measurement preparation period between a plurality of measurements to obtain one mass spectrum, the controller (40) controls a U voltage generator (31) so as to apply the U voltage to the main rod electrodes of the quadrupole mass filter (12). Accordingly, a direct-current electric field is formed between adjacent main rod electrodes around an ion optical axis (C) due to a potential difference, and electric charges accumulated in rod holders (122) holding the main rod electrodes are rapidly removed by an effect of this electric field. As a result, it is possible to eliminate a charge-up that has not been eliminated by a conventional method in which a polarity of a direct-current bias voltage applied to the rod electrodes is merely reversed.
