Abstract: The invention relates to relief plates for flexographic printing comprising a relatively soft elastomeric base (U) having a modulus of elasticity of from 10 to 200 kg/cm2 and a thickness of from 0,5 to 6 mm and, firmly bonded thereto, a thin, relatively hard, difficultly soluble intermediate layer Z having a modulus of elasticity of from 1 x 103 to 2.1 x 106 kg/cm2 and a thickness of from 5 to 500.mu. and, firmly bonded to said intermediate layer Z, a relief layer P' consisting of a photo-crosslinked elastomeric mixture having a modulus of elasticity of from 30 to 2,000 kg/cm and a thickness of from 200 to 300.mu., the modulus of elasticity of the photo-crosslinked relief layer P' being the same as or higher than that of the base U and the neutral surface of the relief plate lying in or near the intermediate layer Z. The invention also relates to photosensitive laminates for the production of such plates.

Abstract: In dry film resists possessing a solid photopolymerizable resist layer, which is applied on a temporary base and can be developed with aqueous, in particular aqueous alkaline, media, and, if required, a cover sheet on the resist layer, the said resist layer is built from a homogeneous mixture of a) not less than 40% by weight of one or more oligomers which contain free carboxyl groups and more than two acryloyl and/or methacryloyl groups and are soluble or dispersible in aqueous alkaline solutions, b) from 1 to 35% by weight of one or more film-forming compatible polymers which are soluble in aqueous media, c) from 1 to 30% by weight of one or more compatible photopolymerizable monomers, d) from 0.001 to 10% by weight of one or more photoinitiators and e) from 0 to 30% by weight of further additives and/or assistants. Resist images are produced on a substrate by a process employing photopolymerizable resist layers of the type stated above.

Abstract: O.Z. 0050/35291 A photopolymer gravure printing plate which has improved hardness and abrasionresistance is produced by imagewise exposure of a layer which is applied to a base and comprises a photoinitiatorcontaining mixture of polymers and photopolymerizable monomers, development of the relief image by removing the unexposed areas of the layer, drying the resulting plate at from 60.degree. to 130.degree.C, and subsequently baking it at from 200.degree. to 260.degree.C to reduce its thickness by 10 to 50%.
