A method for producing a polyphenol containing extract from apple pomace is provided to efficienctly extract the polyphenol from the apply pomace which is to be thrown away. A method for manufacturing polyphenol containing extract from apple pomace comprises: a step of pulverizing apple, obtaining juice and apple pomace; a step of heating the pomace at 40-60°C for two to four hours, drying and pulverizing; a step of suspending the pomace in water and adding 5-10ppm of cellulose and 10-20ppm pectinase; a step of reacting at 30-40°C and pH 5-6 for 30-90 minutes and heating at 90-100°C; a step of adding 200-400%(w/w) of organic solvent; and a step of extracting at 50-60°C for 30-90 minutes to obtain liquid.

A method of manufacturing a beverage composition for lowering blood pressure by extracting Acanthopanax senticosus, onions and Platycodon root is provided to show higher antihypertensive effect than conventional Acanthopanax senticosus beverage. Acanthopanax senticosus, onions and Platycodon root are mixed in a weight ratio of 1.0:1.0:0.5 to 1.0:4.0:1.5, soaked in 15 to 25 times its weight of water, extracted at 80 to 100deg.C for 12 to 36hr and filtered. The herbal extract is then mixed with 1 to 5 auxiliary component selected from the group consisting of a flavor enhancer, sweetener, acidifier, flavoring agent and natural fruit juice to make 100% by weight. The Acanthopanax senticosus contains the stem, leaf, fruit or its mixture.

A method for preparing an alcoholic beverage using Gastrodia elata is provided to be able to obtain an off-flavor free extract liquor of the Gastrodia elata by leaching and ripening steamed and dried Gastrodia elata. A method for preparing an alcoholic beverage using Gastrodia elata comprises the steps of: (a) after steaming Gastrodia elata with vapor for 10-30 minutes, drying it in a dryer at a temperature of 50-80 deg.C to have the moisture content of 5-20%; and (b) mixing the steamed and dried Gastrodia elata with ethanol or alcohol to leach it at a temperature of 15-25 deg.C for 50-150 days. The method further comprises a step of ripening the liquor obtained from the step(b) at a temperature of 5-25 deg.C for 20-100 days.
