    Abstract: Optical recording medium is based on a polymeric support (I) coated with a highly reflective metal film (II). The novel features are that (I) is a uniaxially oriented plastics film and (II) has uniform crystallographic orientation of the crystallites corresp. to the orientation of (I). Pref. (I) consists of a polymeric base and a uniaxially oriented polymeric coating. (II) consists of Sn, Te or Bi deposited from the vapour phase. Suitable substrates consist of polyethylene, polypropylene, polybut-1-ene or isotactic polystyrene, opt. on a polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) base.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing 4-vinylcyclohexene, which comprises the steps (A) providing an n-butane-containing feed gas stream, (B) feeding the n-butane-containing feed gas stream into at least one dehydrogenation zone and dehydrogenating n-butane to butadiene to give a product stream comprising butadiene, n-butane, possibly 1-butene and 2-butene and possibly water vapor and other secondary constituents, (C) feeding the product stream from dehydrogenation, if appropriate after separating off water vapor and secondary constituents, into a dimerization zone and catalytically dimerizing butadiene to give a product stream comprising 4-vinylcyclohexene, n-butane and possibly 1-butene, 2-butene and unreacted butadiene, and (D) separating off 4-vinylcyclohexene from the product stream from the dimerization and recirculating n-butane and possibly 1-butene, 2-butene and unreacted butadiene to the dehydrogenation zone.

    Abstract: A process for preparation of polyetherols includes reaction of at least one alkylene oxide with at least one starter compound in the presence of a catalyst which is a multimetal oxide compound. A process for preparation of polyetherols includes reaction of at least one alkylene oxide with at least one starter compound in the presence of a catalyst, i.e. a multimetal oxide compound of formula (I). M1p(M2qOn(OH)2(3-n))x (I) M1 = at least 1 element from the groups IA, IIA, IIIA, IVA, VA, IB, IIB, IIIB, IVB, VB, VIB, VIIB and/or VIIIB; M2 = at least one element from groups IVA, VA and/or VIA, n = 2 or 3, p = 0 or fractional or whole number greater than 0, q = fractional or whole number greater than 0, x = 1-20 fractional or whole number. An Independent claim is included for a polyetherol obtained as above.
