Abstract: PURPOSE: A telematics device of an electric car for remote controlling air conditioning and a control method thereof are provided to control interior temperature of an electric car in advance by remote controlling an air conditioner of the electric car because a driver can remotely monitor battery charge state. CONSTITUTION: A telematics device of an electric car(100) includes a temperature sensing unit(110), a battery charging unit(130), and a control unit(150). The temperature sensing unit controls interior temperature by operating an air conditioner of an electric car. The battery charging unit controls the charge of a battery. If the battery charging unit receives power supply signal for a temperature control unit while charging the battery, the battery charging unit controls power supply to the temperature control unit according to charged state and charged current capacity of the battery. The control unit outputs the power supply signal according to remote control signal of a server and controls the interior temperature of the electric vehicle by controlling the temperature control unit.
