Abstract: El presente invento se refiere a uso de determinados derivados de ácido carboxílico como medicamentos. La endotelina es un péptido compuesto de 21 aminoácidos, que es sintetizado y liberado por el endotelio vascular. La endotelina existe en tres formas isomeras, ET-1, ET-2 y ET-3. En lo sucesivo, el término "endotelina" o "ET" abarcará una o varias formas isomeras en la endotelina. La endotelina es un vasoconstrictor potente y tiene un fuerte efecto sobre el tono vascular. Es sabido, que esta constriccion vascular es producida por el ligamiento de la endotelina con su receptor.

The invention also provides a novel process for the production of lysine by way of regulating carbon flux towards oxaloacetate (OAA). In a preferred embodiment, the invention provides methods for the production of lysine by way of utilizing fructose or sucrose as a carbon source.
