The graft polymer is pref. prepd. from (a) a polyalkylene oxide with Mn 1,000-50,000 and 40-100 mols.% ethylene oxide, (b) N-vinyl-pyrrolidone, and (c) vinyl acetate. The polymer has K value 5-200 (2% in DMF at 25 deg.C).
