PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment furnace which is free of gas leakage even in heat treatment at a high temperature. SOLUTION: This heat treatment furnace 40, which has a reactive tube 41 having an opening 43 and a flange 47 surrounding the opening 43 at its one end, and a cap 42 for blocking the opening 43, in contact with the reactive tube 41 at the flange 47, is provided with the means 49 and 51 which prevent the gas within the reactive tube 41 from leaking outside, passing through the space in the junction between the flange 47 and the cap 42, and the means 48 and 50 which exhaust the leakage gas in the space between the flange 47 and the cap 42.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To refer to information on constitution or the like for respective sectors and to increase information quantity by permitting a hard disk controller to calculate an absolute block address to calculate a physical position in a specified zone and executing a seek operation based on the physical position. CONSTITUTION: The hard disk controller HDC 30 refers to a defect list D-LST and calculates the absolute block address ABA by all the sectors, which corresponds to a designated logic block address LBA. When a host computer requests the reading of the sectors from #L to #M in the address LBA, the absolute block address ABA is calculated to be #N. When the belonging zone Zn is set to be #Z, the min address ABA is to be MIN-ABBA(#Z) and a min cylinder is MIN-CYL(#Z), the address ABA is shown by an expression. Then, #ZN is set to be the serial numbers of the sectors. The head is switched and the seek operation is executed based on the physical position which is thus calculated.

PURPOSE:To effectively use the memory of a disk device by providing a shared storing means to write outputted data in conformity to prescribed preferential order and time division multiplex controlling means to read the stored data in conformity to the prescribed preferential order. CONSTITUTION:One storing means 10 is shared by a microprocessor 6, host computer 4 and the disk device 12, and the data to be outputted from the microprocessor 6, the host computer 4 and the disk device 12 is written in the shared storing means 10 in conformity to the prescribed preferential order. Then, the time division multiplex controlling means 8 to read the data stored in the shared storing means 10 to the microprocessor 6, the host computer 4 and the disk device 12 in conformity to the prescribed preferential order is provided. Namely, a memory function to store the data to be used by the microprocessor 6 to control the disk device 12 and the function to transfer the data between the disk device 12 and the host computer 4 are given to one storing means 10. Thus, the memory of the disk device 12 can be used effectively.

SOLUTION: A nonvolatile memory cell 32 includes a bit line 14; a storage element 10, including a ferromagnetic layer in which its magnetizing direction varies, depending on the direction of the magnetic field generated by a current flowing through the bit line 14; a conductor 12 for connecting the bit line 14 to the element 10, a switching element 28; a first wiring structure 24 sandwiching the element 10 between the conductors 12 and itself, and connecting the element 10 to one end of the element 28; a write work line 16 intersecting with the bit line 14 in a no-contact manner therewith; and an insulation film 20 for insulating the work line 16 from the element 10.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the controlling of a head arm by reducing shavings of ramps in a head holding mechanism to reduce changes of friction factors of the ramps and to make the speed of the head arm at the time of loading and unloading of a head constant. SOLUTION: In ramps 62 of a ramp block 6, the dried lubrication coating film consisting essentially of polytetrafluorethylene is formed on a surface areas 62g including a contact part 62f with a suspension assembly constituting a head arm. Moreover, the film is also formed on a contact part with the ramps 62 in the tab of the suspension assembly. However, the contact part of the tab slides on the contact part 62f of the ramps at the time of loading and unloading of the head, since the resin coating film is formed on the contact part between the ramps 62 and the tab, the shavings of ramps 62 are reduced.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate an error due to thermal asperity by detecting a read defect on a data recording surface, varying the rotating speed of a disk and making a signal transducer which has decreased in flotation quantity collide, and breaking a projection as the thermal asperity. SOLUTION: Once the signal transducer 20 equipped with an air bearing surface(ABS) 44 and a magneto-resistive(MR) element 42 detects the projection 52 as the thermal asperity of the magnetic disk 18, the rotating speed of the disk is reduced. The ABS 44 of the signal transducer 20 which has decreased in flotation quantity by the speed reduction collides against the projection 52, which is broken, thereby eliminating the read error due to the thermal asperity.
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a pulse following the rotational characteristic of a motor by eliminating the error components of a sensor and a pattern by mounting a light pattern on the shaft of the motor to rotate a magnetic disk, detecting it by an optical sensor, and inputting the output of the sensor to a sector boundary reference generator and a light pattern error generator. CONSTITUTION:A light pattern label 8 on which a black pattern 8a and a white pattern 8b are printed alternately in a radius direction is stuck on the rotor 6 of a spindle motor 4 which drives the magnetic disk 2. The label 8 is irradiated with light from a light source 10, and reflected light from the label is inputted to the optical sensor 12, and the pulse following the rotational characteristic of the motor 4 is outputted from the sensor. Here, the number of patterns 8a and 8b in a circumferential direction is decided at the number sufficiently following the wow component and the flatter component of the motor 4. Afterwards, the output of the sensor 12 is inputted to the sector boundary reference generator 14 and the light pattern error generator 16, and results are sent to first and second counting logic circuits 18 and 22, and a sector boundary signal 24 is sent from the circuit 22.

SOLUTION: A recessed part 290 capable of generating a negative pressure is constituted at least in a part of the area surrounded with a left side-rail 240, left air bearing face 220, cross rail 210, right air bearing face and right side-rail 250; the extent of a projection of the left side-rail 240 or the right side-rail 250 is larger than that of the recessed part 290 but is smaller than that of the left air bearing face 220 or the right air bearing face. In addition, dirt or the like is also hardly stuck or attracted to the face zoo opposite to the disk since the structure in which either one of the end edge 249 of the left side-rail 240 or that 259 of the right side-rail 250 terminates essentially in front of the air exit edge 204 of the face 200.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform data reassigning in a disk device. SOLUTION: In data reassignment processing for moving reading or writing error data in the disk device from an error generation sector position to an alternative region on a disk and recording this, the execution of data reassigning is decided by referring to the remaining capacity of the alternative region in order to efficiently use the alternative region. When the remaining capacity of the alternative region is large, the condition of data reassigning is relaxed and when there is not much remaining capacity, the condition of data reassigning is set strict, only data satisfying a particular condition is moved to the alternative region and for data other than this, only data recovery is performed according to an error recovery procedure(ERP). Thus, the too early disappearance of the alternative region is prevented.

CONSTITUTION: When reading failure occurs, reading condition is altered to correcting reading condition (124 to 136) corresponding to reading failure dealing stage (120, 122). Data is again read from the disk according to the altered correcting reading condition (138), and when reading failure occurs (140), reading failure dealing stage is increased (142), and it is repeatedly executed until the reading failure dealing stage exceeds a predetermined stage (144). When a predetermined stage is exceeded, a hard error is output (146). When the data can be read again from the disk (140, 148), information transferring process (reassigning) is conducted (150) the data of the residual sector is read (152).
