Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a phosphoric monoester useful for detergents, textile treating agents, etc., in high purity and yield without converting the reactional product into a gelatinous material by reacting phosphorus pentoxide, etc., with an organic hydroxy compound under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing a phosphoric monoester is to react phosphorus pentoxide and polyphosphoric acid as phosphorylating agents with an organic hydroxy compound such as octanol under conditions so that a value represented by the formula may exceed 3.2, then add the phosphorus pentoxide to the resultant reactional product and carry out the reaction under conditions that the value, represented by the formula and based on the total amount of the polyphosphoric acid and the phosphorus pentoxide may be 2.8-3.2. Furthermore, the concentration of the polyphosphoric acid is preferably 105-120wt.% expressed in terms of orthophosphoric acid and the unreacted organic hydroxy compound is preferably removed from the reactional product containing the phosphoric monoester by the steam distillation to deodorize the reactional product.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a method for fractionating a sucrose fatty acid ester having a specific composition from a reaction mixture of sucrose fatty acid esters by a simple operation without using an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:Sucrose fatty acid esters composed of a mixture of [SME], [SDE] and [SPE] ([SME] is a sucrose fatty acid ester having 1 ester exchange degree, [SDE] is a sucrose fatty acid ester having 2 ester exchange degree and [SPE] is a sucrose fatty 7 acid ester having >=3 ester exchange degree) are mixed with fats and oils under heating and the prepared heated mixture is incorporated with water to extract a sucrose fatty acid ester having high [SME] content. The prepared water phase and the oil phase are separated to give a sucrose fatty acid ester having high [SME] content and sucrose fatty acid esters having high [SDE] and [SPE] contents.

Therein, stem or an inactive gas is blown in the reaction solution during or after the amidation reaction. The component A and B are preferably reacted with each other in a component A/component B molar ratio of 0.8-1.2 at a reaction temperate of 50-200 deg.C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a compound having excellent color and odor and high quality at a low cost by preparing a reaction solution containing benzalkonium halide from dimethyl-t-amine and a benzyl halide and flowing the reaction solution in the form of a thin film in an inert gas or steam. CONSTITUTION:A solution containing benzalkonium halide of formula (R is 8-30C alkyl or alkenyl) is produced by reacting a dimethyl-t-amine with a benzyl halide. The solution is flowed in the form of a thin film in a flow of a gas inert to the benzalkonium halide or in a steam flow. The evaporation of unreacted benzyl halide is promoted, the odor is improved and a benzalkonium halide having high quality is produced by this process. The contact area of the solution with the steam or inert gas can be increased without causing the foaming of the solution and the effect of the treatment can be improved by flowing the solution in the form of a thin film. The benzalkonium halide is a cationic surfactant useful as a sterilizing agent, an antiseptic agent, a wound cleaning agent, etc. The process enables the production of the compound with easy operation in a short time.

CONSTITUTION:When a sugar is reacted with a higher alcohol or the sugar is firstly reacted with a lower alcohol and then reacted with a higher alcohol to produce an alkylglycoside, the above-mentioned reaction is carried out while irradiating the reaction system with light having 100-800nm wavelength, and unreacted higher alcohol is removed from the resultant unreacted higher alcohol- containing alkylglycoside or the unreacted higher alcohol-containing alkylglycoside is once more irradiated with light having 100-800nm wavelength and then unreacted higher alcohol is removed, or an alkylglycoside solution after removing unreacted higher alcohol is irradiated with light having 100-800nm wavelength to provide the objective decolored alkylglycoside having good hue.
