The radio terminal 502 determines the power level Pi-1 to transmit the signal Si . The power level Pi is based on the preceding power level Pi-1 , power control signal bi and step size.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a peak-to-average ratio and eventually to relieve output reduction of an amplifier by including an orthogonal modulator circuit and a phase rotation circuit connected to the orthogonal modulator circuit, making the phase rotation circuit rotate the phases of an in-phase signal and an orthogonal signal and generating the in-phase signal undergoing phase rotation and the orthogonal signal undergoing phase rotation. SOLUTION: In a CDMA base station, intentional phase rotation (θk ) is introduced between different Walsh channels about the radio user in a baseband signal. A baseband coding/modulating unit 30 offers in-phase and orthogonal phase signals, they are connected to corresponding multipliers 32 and 34 and the multipliers 32 and 34 are connected to a Walsh code for orthogonal modulation. The multipliers 32 and 34 are connected to multipliers 36 and 38 and multipliers 40 and 42 respectively. Outputs of the multipliers 36 and 38 and inverted outputs/outputs of the multipliers 40 and 42 are connected to adders 44 and 46.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for currying out an ARQ method using incremental redundancy(IR) where a receiver can relatively quickly recover from an incorrect interpretation in confirmation message transmitted by the receiver. SOLUTION: Information, received by the receiver contains a one-bit new/ continuous flag for indicating whether the reception information is the beginning of new information, or is the continuation (or retransmission) of previously transmitted information. When the information containing the new flag is received, and is successfully decodes, the receiver transmits an ACK message. When the information containing the continuous flag is received during a standby state for receiving the new information, the receiver transmits the ACK message. Using the method, recovery can be made from the incorrect decoding in ACK/NACK messages relatively quickly, and subscribers having different transmission requirements can be accommodated.
