Abstract:
Methodologies for the synthesis, screening and characterisation of organometallic compounds and catalysts (eg homogenous catalysts), including combinatorial synthesis, screening and characterisation of libraries of supported and unsupported organometallic compounds and catalysts (eg homogenous catalysts). The methods can be applied to the preparation and screening of large numbers of organometallic compounds which can be used not only as catalysts (eg homogeneous catalysts), but also as additives and therapeutic agents.
Abstract:
A method of preparing and delivering a slurry into a series of vessels in a reactor, said method comprising: (1) mixing a particulate solid material and a liquid dispersing medium and agitating the mixture to form a substantially homogeneous first slurry in which said particulate solid material is suspended in the liquid; (2) aspirating said first slurry into a cannula carried by a robot system while the slurry is substantially homogeneous; (3) operating the robot system to insert the cannula into the reactor;(4) delivering the slurry from the cannula into the vessel while the cannula is in said reactor; and (5) repeating (2)-(4) for a second vessel with said first slurry or repeating (2)-(4) for a second vessel with a second slurry.
Abstract:
The present invention relates, Inter alia, to methodologies for the synthesi s, screening and characterization of organometallic compounds and catalysts (e.g., homogeneous catalysts). The methods of the present invention provide for the combinatorial synthesis, screening and characterization of libraries of supported and unsupported organometallic compounds and catalysts (e.g., homogeneous catalysts). The methods of the present invention can be applied to the preparation and screening of large numbers of organometallic compounds which can be used not only as catalysts (e.g., homogeneous catalysts), but also as additives and therapeutic agents.

Abstract:
Novel compositions and metal compounds having an ancillary ligand structure polymerize monomers and functionalized monomers, either alone or in the presence of an activator. The ancillary ligand structure is a chelating ligand that may optionally be further bound to the metal via a dative or covalent bond.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for screening potential catalysts for polymerization performance. The method includes the steps of reacting a potential catalyst with at least a first monomer under polymerization conditions, determining the polymerization performance of the catalyst with the at least first monomer, and using the determination as a predictor for the polymerization performance of the catalyst for at least a second monomer, wherein the first and second monomers are different from each other and the first monomer is an olefin other than ethylene. The method provides a useful, concrete and tangible result that has particular value for identifying appropriate catalysts for olefin polymerization and copolymerization.
Abstract:
Metal complexes comprising certain polydentate heteroatom containing ligands, catalysts, and coordination polymerization processes employing the same are suitably employed to prepare polymers having desirable physical properties.
