    Abstract: The invention concerns the use of modified polyaspartic acids as additives to washing agents and washing agents containing the modified polyaspartic acids in amounts of between 0.1 and 20 wt.%. The modified polyaspartic acids are obtained by the polycondensation of aspartic acid in the presence of: (a) 2.5 to 25 mol % amines with at least 6 carbon atoms; and (b) at least 2 wt.% phosphoric acid, phosphorous acid, hypophosphorous acid, polyphosphoric acids, phosphorus pentoxide, phosphonic acids or mixtures of said acids, in each case relative to the amount of aspartic acid used, at temperatures of at least 120 DEG C and subsequent hydrolysis with bases to give modified polyaspartic acids with a phosphorus content of between 0.5 and 10 wt.%.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to the use of water-insoluble cross linked polymers containing either (a) units of 1-vinyl pyrrolidone and/or 1-vinyl imidazoles of formula (I), in which R, R and R are identical or different and stand for H, C1-C4 alkyl or phenyl, or (b) units of 4-vinyl-pyridine-N-oxide incorporated by polymerisation, in either case in the form of fine particles, at least 90 wt % of the polymers having a particle size of between 0.1 and 500 mu m. The proposed cross-linked polymers are intended for use as additives for detergents containing a bleaching agent and having an alkyl benzene sulphonates content of not more than 8 wt.%, with the aim of preventing dye transfer during washing. Also disclosed are detergents containing water-insoluble cross-linked polymers in quantities of between 0.05 and 10 wt.%.

    Abstract: The use is disclosed of graft polymers obtainable by radically-initiated polymerisation of (A) monomer mixtures comprising (a) 90-100 wt. % monoethylenically unsaturated C4-C8 dicarboxylic acids, their anhydrides or alkali- and/or ammonium salts; (b) 0-10 wt. % other monoethylenically unsaturated monomers which can be co-polymerised with monomers (a); and (c) 0-5 wt. % of at least two ethylenically unsaturated monomers with double bonds in the molecule, in the presence of (B) hydrogenated monosaccharides, hydrogenated oligosaccharides and/or hydrogenated polysaccharides, in relative weight proportions of (A):(B) of (95-20):(5-80). The graft polymers are proposed as additives to phosphate-free and phosphate-reduced washing and cleaning agents. Also disclosed are washing and cleaning agents containing the proposed graft copolymers in quantities of 0.1 to 20 wt. %.
