    Abstract: A sensor for variable rack stroke is provided to prevent a tire from interfering with a side member and to increase convenience for driving of a vehicle. A sensor for variable rack stroke includes a two phase switch(10) and a rubber cover ring. The two switch is installed at a side of a side member(13) to detect interference with a tire and to drive the variable rack stroke(VRS) electrically connected to the two phase switch when a snow chain is mounted. The two phase switch includes a base housing(10-1), and a button cap(10-2) coupled with the base housing to be pushed and pulled. The rubber cover ring surrounds the outer side of the two phase switch to secure water proof and to be restored after deformation. The rubber cover ring is made in the form of a bellows. The two phase switch is turned on by touching the tire wearing the snow chain, the rack stroke is restricted to maintain a gap between a side of the tire and a side of the side member. An electric signal of the two phase switch is determined and controlled by an electronic control unit.
