Un proceso para obtener al menos un piripiropeno, que comprende las etapas de a) cultivar un organismo productor de piripiropeno en un caldo de cultivo en condiciones de cultivo, en el que se produce al menos un piripiropeno, b) producir biomasa seca con un contenido de agua residual (peso/peso) inferior al 8 % de al menos una parte de la biomasa obtenida en la etapa a), c) obtener al menos un piripiropeno a partir de la biomasa seca producida en la etapa b).

THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO BACTERIAL STRAINS, CAPABLE OF UTILIZING GLYCEROL AS A CARBON SOURCE FOR THE FERMENTATIVE PRODUCTION OF SUCCINIC ACID, WHEREIN SAID STRAINS ARE GENETICALLY MODIFIED SO THAT THEY COMPRISE A DEREGULATION OF THEIR ENDOGENOUS PYRUVATE-FORMATE-LYASE ENZYME ACTIVITY, AS WELL AS TO METHODS OF PRODUCING ORGANIC ACIDS, IN PARTICULAR SUCCINIC ACID, BY MAKING USE OF SUCH MICROORGANISM. La invención, en principio, pertenece al campo de la fabricación recombinante de alcaloides de tipo clavina tales como cicloclavina, festuclavina, agroclavina, chanoclavina y aldehído de chanoclavina. Proporciona microorganismos y procesos para la fabricación de alcaloides de tipo clavina así como también polipéptidos, polinucleótidos y vectores que comprenden dichos polinucleótidos que se pueden aplicar en un método para la fabricación de alcaloides de tipo clavina.

The invention pertains to processes to produce dry biomass of pyripyropene producer organisms, processes to obtain pyripyropenes from such dry biomass, as well as to processes to produce compounds of Formula III and/or Formula IV and/or Formula V from the pyripyropenes obtained from the dry biomass. The invention does further pertain to the dry biomass itself, as well as processes using said dry biomass to obtain pyripyropenes for the production of compounds of Formula III and/or Formula IV and/or Formula V, including processes using said dry biomass to obtain pyripyropenes or compounds of Formula III and/or Formula IV and/or Formula V in order to produce pest control compositions, in particular insecticides, comprising such compounds.

It provides polynucleotides encoding polypeptides involved in the biosynthesis of cornexistin and hydroxycornexistin as well as vectors and recombinant microorganisms comprising such polynucleotides. Also provided are methods for the production of natural products, in particular methods for the production of cornexistin and hydroxycornexistin, using such polynucleotides and polpeptides encoded therein, as well as vectors and recombinant microorganisms comprising such polynucleotides and polypeptides.
