    Abstract: A defect diagnosing method of a damper clutch is provided to improve a diagnose accuracy by determining a defect of the damper clutch, when an abnormal control duty is maintained for a predetermined time interval. An engine speed sensor(10) detects the rotation number of engine, which is used as an input torque of a torque converter, from an angle displacement of a crank shaft and delivers the rotation number of engine to a TCU(Transmission Control Unit). A turbine speed sensor(20) detects the current rotation number of turbine, which is used as an output torque of the torque converter, and delivers the current rotation number of turbine to the TCU. The TCU(30) receives the rotation number of engine and turbine and generates a control signal for controlling a damper clutch. An actuator(40) receives the control signal from the TCU and controls the damper clutch. The actuator includes a solenoid valve for controlling a hydraulic pressure applied on the damper clutch.
