Abstract: PURPOSE: An agent containing Coptis chinensis roots or extract thereof is provided effectively suppress gray mold rot and powdery mildew in strawberries. CONSTITUTION: An agent for preventing plant diseases including gray mold rot and powdery mildew in strawberries contains Coptis chinensis roots or extract thereof as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared by adding ethanol to Coptis chinensis roots or by adding water to Coptis chinensis roots, extracting at 80-120°C using a hot water reflux device for 2-3 days, centrifuging, and decompressing the supernatant. The agent further contains sulfur and natural soap.
