    Abstract: PURPOSE: An airbag for a vehicle is provided to stably protect a passenger and to rapidly spread by controlling the internal diameter through a tube is fastened or released by a tether according to the spreading point of an airbag cushion. CONSTITUTION: An airbag for a vehicle comprises an integrated vent hole(110), a tube, and a tether(130). The gas inside an airbag cushion(100) is discharged according to the spreading point of an airbag cushion by varying the internal diameter of the tube. The tether is formed in a shape surrounding the tube. The tether is connected to the airbag cushion in order that both ends are tightened when spreading the airbag cushion and fastens the tube in an initial spread of the airbag cushion and releases the tube in a specific spread point of the airbag cushion.

The active vent comprises a vent hole(110), a tether(340), and a cutting device(360). The cutting device opens the vent hole by cutting the tether at a required time. The one-way vent comprises a through-hole(162), a cinch tube(520), and a tightening string(540). The tightening string closes the through-hole by tightening the cinch tube when cutting the tether.
