Abstract: A a cartridge type delivery valve assembly in which a valve seat surface and a valve are integrated in order to assure good seating characteristics in the delivery valve. The delivery valve assembly is formed by fixing together a valve holder provided with delivery holes, a roll valve that is mounted along the internal surface of the valve holder to freely open and close the delivery holes and a valve stopper that fixes the roll valve onto the valve holder and regulates the lift quantity of the roll valve, in an integrated manner using coupling members and the delivery valve assembly thus achieved is mounted in a valve insertion space.

Abstract: A variable capacity compressor comprises a control element for determining the timing of start of compression of refrigerant gas. Control pressure which acts on the control element to displace same between the minimum capacity position and the maximum capacity position is created in a high-pressure chamber by introducing discharge pressure thereinto. An electromagnetic valve opens and closes a passageway which commincates between the high-pressure chamber and a suction chamber by a pulse signal supplied from an ECU to control an amount of refrigerant gas leaking from the former into the latter to thereby control the level of the control pressure. The ECU makes the width of at least a first pulse or at least a first pulse base of the pulse signal wider than that of the following pulses or pulse bases, when the control element should start to be displaced between the minimum capacity position and the maximum capacity position. The control pressure is introduced to act on both ends of a valve body of the electromagnetic valve, whereby it is made possible to open the valve by a small driving force of an electromagnetic actuator thereof.

Abstract: A variable capacity vane compressor has a first oil sump formed in a bottom of a discharge pressure chamber arranged at one side of a cylinder close to one side block, and a second oil sump formed in a bottom of a suction chamber arranged at another side of the cylinder close to the other side block. An oil passageway communicates between the first oil sump and the second oil sump. A control element is arranged in the other side block for rotation about its own axis in opposite directions to thereby vary the compression starting timing. A pressure chamber acts to apply control pressure created from discharge pressure from the cylinder to the control element for causing rotation of the control element. A seal member is fitted on the control element such that part of the seal member is located in the pressure chamber. A high pressure-introducing passageway is formed in the other side block and communicates with the second oil sump. The discharge pressure from the cylinder is introduced into the pressure chamber through the discharge pressure chamber, the first oil sump, the second oil sump, and the high pressure-introducing passageway.

Abstract: A cylinder has at least one valve seating surface-forming portion which has an outer surface formed therein with at least one recess, the bottom surface of which serves as a valve seating surface. A discharge valve is arranged on the outer surface of the valve seating surface-forming portion to close or open outlet holes formed in respective ones of the valve seating surface at locations where the wall thickness of the cylinder is the minimum. The discharge valve has at least one elastic valve body having an arcuate cross section and disposed in tight contact with a corresponding one of the valve seating surface. The valve seating surface is arcuately concavely curved with almost the same radius of curvature as that of the valve body of the discharge valve.

Abstract: In order to provide a simple structure to achieve sufficient lubrication and sealing in the various areas of a scroll compressor where sliding contact occurs, a spiral groove that communicates between a high-pressure side space and an area at an upper portion of a main bearing is formed on the external circumferential surface of the drive shaft where it comes in contact with and slides against the main bearing. A seal bearing is provided in a drive shaft-receiving block between the high-pressure side space and a low pressure side space to seal off the high-pressure side space from the low pressure side space. An oil supply hole is provided that communicates between the high-pressure side space and an oscillation space which is formed by an oscillating scroll member and an oscillating shaft. With this, a first oil passage that lubricates the main bearing and a second oil passage that lubricates an oscillating shaft-insertion hole are formed. A seal washer, the surface of which is polished to a specific roughness, is provided between the seal bearing and the drive shaft and, in addition, an elastic member is provided between the seal bearing and the block.

Abstract: An improved variable capacity vane compressor comprises at least one second inlet port (23) formed in a rear side block (9) of the cylinder (7) and communicating a suction chamber (5) with at least one of compression chambers (13) on a suction stroke, defined within the cylinder (7), and an opening angle control device (24) arranged in the rear side block (9) for varying the opening angle of the at least one second inlet port (23). The opening control device (24) has a pressure receiving portion (26) defining a first pressure chamber (27₁) supplied with a high pressure and a second pressure (27₂) chamber supplied with a low pressure, both arranged in the rear side block (9), and being angularly displaceable in response to a difference between the high pressure and the low pressure for causing the opening angle control device to vary the opening angle of the at least one second inlet port (23). A pressure control device (33) is arranged in the rear side block (9) and the rear head (3′) and responsive to at least one parameter representative of a thermal load on the compressor for varying at least one of the high and low pressures in the first and second pressure chambers.

Abstract: A variable capacity vane compressor comprising a control element (24) having at least one pressure-receiving protuberance (26) dividing a space into a first and a second pressure chamber, wherein the control element angularly moves in response to a differential pressure between the first and second pressure chambers, to vary an opening angle of a second portion of at least one inlet port. The control element has mounted thereon a sealing member (31) for sealing between the first and second pressure chambers and between a low pressure chamber and a vane back pressure zone. The sealing member comprises a first sealing portion (31a) for sealing between a peripheral wall surface of a central bore in the control element and an inner peripheral side wall surface of an annular recess in a side block, a second sealing portion (31b) for sealing between an outer peripheral surface of the control element and an outer peripheral side wall surface of the annular recess, a third sealing portion (31c) for sealing between an outer peripheral edge of the pressure-receiving protuberance and the wall surface of the space, and a fourth sealing portion (31d) for sealing between an axial end face of the control element and a bottom wall surface of the annular recess.
