    Abstract: The adapter couples a power module to a circuit board. An adapter embodying the present invention can be configured to allow the connection of any power module regardless of pin out to any circuit board. Signal modifying circuitry can also be added to the adapter to enhance or simply modify the signal to the end user's circuit board.     Abstract: A flexible circuit interposer includes a flexible circuit substrate which allows in-situ probing of an attached device during, for example, circuit debugging, assembly qualification, and the like. In accordance with one embodiment, a first set of pads (for example, bond pads configured to interface with solder balls) are configured in a predetermined pattern on the bottom surface of a flexible substrate. Similarly, a second set of pads are configured in substantially the same pattern on the top surface of the flexible substrate, wherein each of the pads in the second set of pads is electrically continuous with a corresponding pad in the first set of pads. A third set of pads are configured in the same pad pattern on the top surface of the flexible substrate. One or more conductive traces are formed to connect one or more pads in the first set of pads with spatially-corresponding pads in the third set of pads. A fourth set of pads corresponding to the third set of pads may also be provided on the bottom surface of the flexible substrate.

    Abstract: In a computer system two integrated circuit devices are operatively mounted on the main system board using a pair of interstitial circuit boards sandwiched between the integrated circuit devices and the system board and having substantially smaller footprints than the system board. Each interstitial board has a series of terminating components, representatively resistors, interposed in its circuitry which interconnects the associated integrated circuit board with system board circuitry that, in turn, operatively couples the two integrated circuit boards. The incorporation of the terminating components in the interstitial boards instead of in the system board reduces the circuit complexity of the system board and the required number of layers therein, thereby reducing the cost of the system board and substantially simplifying its signal trace routing design.
