Abstract: Provided is a ceiling tile coated on at least one surface with an acoustically transparent coating which creates pores at the tile surface and comprises a high Tg polymeric binder, titanium dioxide, and particles selected from the group consisting of void latex particles, hollow glass beads, calcium carbonate, calcium magnesium carbonate, calcined clay and any combination thereof. Compositions for acoustically transparent coatings and methods for making a substrate surface acoustically transparent are provided as well.

Abstract: To provide a surface treatment method for hydrophilizing a surface of a treatment target and preventing charging by a simple and easy method and an anti-static agent. The present invention provides a surface treatment method. The method comprises an anti-static treatment step of coating a treatment target with an anti-static agent comprising an electrolyte (e1), a hydrophilic polymer (a) and water, and having electrical conductivity of 15 mS/m or more to obtain a coated film (A), drying the coated film (A) to obtain an anti-static layer, and a hydrophilizing treatment step of coating the anti-static layer with a hydrophilizing treatment agent comprising a hydrophilic polymer (b) and an alcohol to obtain a coated film (B), and drying the coated film (B), followed by rinsing thereof.

Abstract: A device for applying adhesive to a substrate, having an application roller that is rotatable about an axis, an installation for dispensing adhesive to a circumferential area of the application roller, a dispensing region of the application roller for dispensing adhesive from the application roller, and having a doctor blade, wherein the dispensing region for adhesive in the rotation direction of the application roller is located behind the installation for dispensing the adhesive to the application roller and ahead of the doctor blade. In such a device it is provided that the application roller is rotatable about a vertical axis and the excess adhesive wiped by the doctor blade reaches a collection installation that is located below the doctor blade. In a method for applying adhesive to a substrate, excess adhesive that has not been applied to the substrate is disposed of.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a covering layer for elastic laminate comprising a) impregnating a carrier fabric, b) applying a surface coating comprising a crosslinker and a prepolymer that can be crosslinked via reactive end groups, c) crosslinking the crosslinkable prepolymer, and d) drying the elastic laminate covering layer. The papers obtainable in this manner are suitable for producing a laminate that, with the elastic outer face thereof, has a pleasant and appealing feel underfoot and good haptics.

Abstract: Provided herein include methods and compositions pertaining to coatings, such as paints, for covering a substrate. In some aspects and embodiments the coatings may include a heat reflective metal oxide pigment that, applied to an external surface of a building (or is applied on a substrate used for an external surface of a building such as an architectural metal panel, EIFS, as a stucco top coat or as a top coat for roofing tiles) reduces the energy consumption in the building. In other aspects and embodiments, provided are textured coatings having a texturing material; for example, methods and compositions are provided pertaining to textured coatings that can be applied robotically or in an automated fashion. In various aspects and embodiments, textured coatings are provided that include a texturing material and a heat reflective metal oxide pigment. In some aspects and embodiments heat reflective coatings for concrete or clay tiles and methods of applying such are provided.
