Abstract: There is disclosed a mobility aid for use by a user having a lower body amputation site. The mobility aid includes a lower body exoskeleton (LBE). The LBE has a pelvic support structure and a first leg and a second leg. Each of the first and second legs are movably coupled to the pelvic support structure, wherein at least the first and second legs are selectively actuable to move the lower body exoskeleton relative to a surface on which the mobility aid is positioned. The LBE also includes a carrier selectively positionable with respect to the lower body exoskeleton and, which in use, supports the user at or about an amputation site; and a harness system configured to, when in use, secure the user to the lower body exoskeleton.

Abstract: A muscular strength assisting apparatus may include: a wearing unit configured to enclose a part of a user's body; a tightening unit configured to pull the wearing unit in one or both directions; and/or a control unit configured to drive the tightening unit to tighten the part of the user's body on which the wearing unit is located, when it is determined that muscular contraction occurs at the part of the user's body on which the wearing unit is located. A method of controlling a muscular strength assisting apparatus may include: determining whether muscular contraction occurs at a part of a user's body that is enclosed by a wearing unit; and/or driving a tightening unit pulling the wearing unit in one direction or both directions to tighten the part of the user's body on which the wearing unit is located when it is determined that the muscular contraction occurs.

Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to a vibration motor assembly. The vibration motor assembly includes a vibration motor, at least one flexible connector adapted to suspend the vibration motor from a bed frame support surface, and a controller adapted to control the vibration motor. The vibration motor assembly further includes an attachment means for attaching the flexible connector to the bed frame support surface and/or an attachment means for attaching the controller to the bed frame support surface or a corresponding bed facility. The vibration motor assembly can be provided in the form of a kit including the vibration motor, the flexible connector(s), the controller, and optionally a remote control and/or further mounting elements for attaching the flexible connector(s) and/or the controller to a bed frame support surface, such as part of an adjustable bed facility or a fixed bed facility which can further include a mattress supported thereon.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are footwear and systems for reducing foot pain or discomfort. In one aspect, an article of footwear encompasses an upper; a sole, at least one vibration device disposed within the upper, the vibration device comprising at least one vibrational element capable of delivering vibrations to a user of the footwear; a controller communicatively connected to the vibration device and configured to control operation of the one or more vibration devices based on instructions regarding operation of the vibration device; and a control unit communicatively connected to the controller and configured to transmit instructions regarding the operation of the vibration device to the controller. Also disclosed herein are methods for reducing pain and discomfort using the disclosed footwear, devices and systems.

Abstract: A wearable navigation system for blind or visually impaired persons with wireless assistance. The system has one or more than one camera to capture images from the surroundings of the blind user. A server uses the images captured by the camera along with a global positioning and specialized satellite imagery to determine a route for the blind user to follow. The user uses an audio input/output transceiver to enter and hear commands from the server. The system also has a wireless communications device so that the blind user can ask for remote assistance if there is a situation that the server cannot process.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are provided for treating migraine headaches and other conditions by non-invasive electrical stimulation of nerves and other tissue. A hand-held device includes a housing with a controller having a signal generator, an electrode for delivering electrical signals, and a conductive surface configured as a return path for the electrical signals. In certain implementations, the electrode is repositionable with respect to the housing. The patient can self-apply the hand-held device by pressing it against areas in need of pain relief. The device may include a pressure-sensitive gating switch to control delivery of the stimulation therapy. In certain embodiments, the electrode is a rollerball electrode. The device may include a chamber for retaining and dispensing conductive gel to the therapy site. In certain approaches, the device includes an electrode support for coupling an electrical stimulation system to the head for hands-free electrical stimulation therapy.
