Abstract:
Methods, systems, and compositions for the liquid-phase deposition (LPD) of thin films. The thin films can be coated onto the surface of porous components of electrochemical devices, such as battery electrodes. Embodiments of the present disclosure achieve a faster, safer, and more cost-effective means for forming uniform, conformal layers on non-planar microstructures than known methods. In one aspect, the methods and systems involve exposing the component to be coated to different liquid reagents in sequential processing steps, with optional intervening rinsing and drying steps. Processing may occur in a single reaction chamber or multiple reaction chambers.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of preparing calcium carbonate coated calcium hydroxide particles by combining calcium hydroxide and dry ice in an acquiescent manner. The invention further relates to an apparatus for carrying out the method and to the use of the calcium carbonate coated calcium hydroxide particles of the method as filler for use with thermoplastics polymers.
Abstract:
Aspects of methods and apparatuses herein relate to making elastic laminates, and more particularly, methods and apparatuses for applying fluids onto elastic material positioned on an advancing substrate. The elastic material may be in various forms, such as for example, elastic strands, ribbons, and/or panels. Particular embodiments of the apparatuses and methods disclosed herein provide for the application of viscous fluids, such as adhesives, in pre-determined patterns to elastic material positioned on an advancing substrate.
Abstract:
An apparatus, method and system for applying a liquid coating on an elongated work piece. One example is an arrow shaft. The apparatus comprises a body with a wiper on or in the body. A mounting interface allows the body to be mounted on a support, which in one example is the top of a can holding the liquid to be applied. An excess amount of liquid is applied to the work piece (e.g. by dipping an end or other application of the liquid to a location along the work piece, and the work piece is then moved past the wiper such that the wiper wipes the liquid on the work piece but gathers excess liquid for substantially even coating of the liquid along the work piece.
Abstract:
A tank body 100 includes a liquid receiving part 2 for receiving processing solution Q applied to a plate-like work 10 and a liquid retaining part 4 for retaining liquids to be applied to the plate-like work 10 and a liquid outflowing part 6 for causing a flow of the processing solution Q which is spilled out of the liquid retaining part 4 and traveled down toward the plate-like work 10, wherein a tip 6a of the liquid outflowing part 6 is projected from a connecting part 5 connecting to the liquid retaining part 4 (or the liquid receiving part 2).
Abstract:
A top-down substrate printing device for thin film printing is disclosed. In one aspect the device comprises a stage fixing a substrate in a top-down manner, a plurality of nozzles each of which has one end portion positioned below the stage to face the stage and including printing fluid therein, a vertical position controller controlling a distance between the substrate and the nozzles, and a horizontal position controller controlling positions of the substrate and contacts of the nozzles.
Abstract:
A disinfectant system for intracavity ultrasound probes in disclosed generally including a housing, a disinfectant chamber positioned in the housing and receiving at least one ultrasound probe, a container for containing a disinfectant solution fluidly coupled to the disinfectant chamber, at least one pump for supplying the disinfection solution from the container to the disinfection chamber and from the disinfection chamber to the container, and a controller for automated operation of the disinfectant system, wherein the disinfectant solution is a multi-use disinfectant solution. A method for disinfecting intracavity ultrasound probes is also disclosed generally including placing at least one ultrasound probe into a disinfectant chamber, supplying a disinfectant solution from a container to the disinfectant chamber via a pump, and returning the solution to the container via the pump, wherein the steps of supplying and returning the disinfectant solution are controlled by a controller.
Abstract:
A manufacturing method and facility for applying a coating to vehicle structural components such as frames, provides unloading and stacking below the unloading station. Oscillation of the vehicle structural component in the coating liquid in the dip tank provides accelerated heat transfer, and also improves coating by eliminating air pockets. A bent carousel arm or a parallelogram linkage provides uniform coating action. Reverse travel sequencing minimizes space requirements.
Abstract:
An electrodeposition coating system widely used for automatic coating process, etc. of motor vehicles. This system includes an article to be coated, which is a first electrode, and provided in an electrodeposition bath and a second electrode or electrodes constituted by one or more electrodes and provided in association with the article. In this system, current is passed between the both electrodes through an aqueous solution of a substance for forming a coating a film, which is contained in the electrodeposition bath, to thereby electrodeposit the substance for forming a coating material onto the article. The aqueous solution and the second electrodes or electrodes are separated from each other by a membrane portion having a first function of precluding the flow of ionized neutralizing agent in the aqueous solution attracted by the second electrode or electrodes and a second function of precluding the flow of ions flowing out of the side of the second electrode or electrodes attracted by the first electrode.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for fabricating gravure printing cylinders of synthetic resin in which a solution of a photosetting polyamide resin used as a coating resin is applied over the surface of a cylindrical base spirally as successively overlaid layers and thereafter the applied resin in subjected to drying by a heater and to photosetting by irradiation with ultraviolet rays, electron rays or the like. The resin layer surface thus obtained is mechanically engraved by an electronic engraver for forming gravure cells. The irradiation of ultraviolet ray, electron ray, or the like may be effected during or after application of the polyamide resin over the cylindrical base.
