Each wt. % of a respective ingredient is based on a total amount of the coating material.

Abstract: An improved moistening brush assembly is provided for moistening opened envelope flaps that are transported below it. Bristles of the brush are enclosed in a housing at an upper end of the brush. The bristles are supported at an inclined angle such that liquid flows from the top to the bottom. The housing further includes an opening that receives a flow of moistening liquid from a liquid supply tube and fitting. At the location where the liquid enters the housing, there is a horizontal channel extending across a majority of a width of the bristles of the moistening brush. As a result of this channel, liquid from the liquid supply opening is distributed evenly across the width of the bristles.

Abstract: A method for printing on a low surface energy substrate. The low surface energy substrates may be flexible low surface energy substrates. A primer is applied to the surface of the low surface energy substrate using a spray coating system. A pressure pot spray system that oscillates as the substrate passes underneath it on a conveyor system may be used. The primer is then allowed to air dry. Once dry, a printer can be used to print a graphic, design or other ornamental feature on the primed surface of the substrate. Once printing is complete, a clear coating is applied to the substrate and then cured.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing a coated analytic substrate using a compact and portable automated instrument located in the laboratory setting at the point of use which can consistently produce one or a plurality of coated analytic substrates “on demand” for using the analytic substrate immediately after coating, preferably without a step of rinsing the coated analytic substrate before use. The apparatus preferably uses applicator cartridges having a reservoir containing the coating compositions used to form the coatings. Preferably the cartridges are removable and interchangeable to facilitate the production of individual analytic substrates having different coatings or different coating patterns. These coated analytic substrates have superior specimen adhesion characteristics due to the improved quality of the coatings applied by the coating apparatus and due to the quickness with which the coated analytic substrates can be used in the lab after production.

Abstract: A high-transparence fiberglass paper includes vegetable parchment which is successively coated with a base layer, a second layer and a protective layer on both sides. The base layer and protective layer are prepared using water-based paints, while the second layer is prepared using UV ink through curing. The transparency and surface smoothness of the fiber is thereby greatly improved. Through treatment on the both surfaces, the paper can be processed into a light and smooth paper, with a surface smoothness of both sides more than 200 s, just like hyaline paper.

Abstract: Provided herein include methods and compositions pertaining to coatings, such as paints, for covering a substrate. In some aspects and embodiments the coatings may include a heat reflective metal oxide pigment that, applied to an external surface of a building (or is applied on a substrate used for an external surface of a building such as an architectural metal panel, EIFS, as a stucco top coat or as a top coat for roofing tiles) reduces the energy consumption in the building. In other aspects and embodiments, provided are textured coatings having a texturing material; for example, methods and compositions are provided pertaining to textured coatings that can be applied robotically or in an automated fashion. In various aspects and embodiments, textured coatings are provided that include a texturing material and a heat reflective metal oxide pigment. In some aspects and embodiments heat reflective coatings for concrete or clay tiles and methods of applying such are provided.
