A coating with a drug that releases over time may be provided. Open and closed matrixes may be selectively formed to help modify time release periods.

Abstract: An additive manufacturing system has an aerosol generator to aerosolize a powder, a deposition surface, a surface charging element to apply a blanket charge to the deposition surface, a charging print head to selectively remove portions of the blanket charge from the deposition surface, and a transport system to transport the aerosol powder from the aerosol generator to the deposition surface, the transport system having an aerosol charging element to apply charge opposite of the blanket charge to the aerosol powder. An additive manufacturing process includes creating an aerosol from a powder at a spray generator, charging the aerosol to produce a charged aerosol having a first charge, forming a blanket charge on a deposition surface having a second charge of an opposite polarity from the first charge, selectively removing regions of the blanket charge, and transporting the charged aerosol to the charged regions to form structures on the charged regions from the charged aerosol.

Abstract: The provided technologies provide an implant closure device having a mesh layer formed on a flexible substrate, collectively forming a sealable member, that improves a seal formed over an aperture in a body lumen. The mesh facilitates a faster and more secure adherence of the sealable member to the surrounding edges at the puncture site. Furthermore, the provided technology may promote platelet-capture and encourage localized platelet aggregation at the exposed collagen in the wound edges on the mesh layer. The platelet impregnated mesh layer can facilitate cellular adhesion, enabling the sealable member that is local to the wound opening to act, in essence, as a “biological glue”.

Abstract: The electrostatic spray device includes a liquid sprayer including a nozzle that spouts a liquid; a voltage applicator that applies a voltage between the liquid sprayer and a heteropolar portion functioning as a pole opposite a pole of the liquid sprayer to generate an electrostatic force for causing the liquid to separate from a distal end of the nozzle in a charging state; and a stabilization electrode that maintains a stable spraying state of the liquid even when a pressure is applied to the liquid to supply the nozzle with the liquid. The stabilization electrode has an electric potential identical to an electric potential of the liquid sprayer, and is disposed near the nozzle such that a jet portion formed at a front of the nozzle by a linear extension of the liquid has a length longer than a length of the jet portion before the stabilization electrode is provided.
