Abstract:
A color measurement system laterally determines chromatic characteristics of a printed substrate. A measurement carriage includes a measurement head for laterally moving across the printed substrate and a measurement magnetic coupler slidably mounts onto a measurement rail positioned on a first side of the printed substrate. A backing carriage includes backing surface(s) and backing magnetic coupler(s). Each backing magnetic coupler is associated with a respective backing surface. Each backing magnetic coupler can be coupled with the measurement magnetic coupler for coupling the measurement carriage with the backing carriage. The backing carriage slidably mounts onto a backing rail positioned on a second opposite side of the printed substrate. The measurement carriage or backing carriage includes a motor for moving across a respective measurement rail or backing rail. Another measurement carriage and backing carriage move across another measurement rail and backing rail by coupling with the first measurement carriage and backing carriage.
Abstract:
An etalon is provided with a fixed substrate and a movable substrate opposed to the fixed substrate. The fixed substrate is provided with a first bonding surface to be bonded to the movable substrate via a bonding film and a first electrode surface on which a part of the first electrode is formed. The movable substrate is provided with a second bonding surface to be bonded to the first bonding surface via the bonding film and a second electrode surface on which a part of the second electrode is formed. In the state in which the fixed substrate and the movable substrate are bonded to each other with the bonding film, the first electrode formed on the first electrode surface and the second electrode formed on the second electrode surface have contact with each other.
Abstract:
A modular device includes base and color sensing portions. The color sensing portion has a face, a controlled light source having a first channel between the light source and the face, and a color sensor arranged at a distal end of a second channel. The color sensor receives light reflected from the target surface and generates output signals representative of a surface color. The first and second channels extend at least 45 degrees apart from each other and respective to the face. The base portion communicates with the color sensor and a user interface enabling control input for the color sensor. The program further receives the output signals from the color sensing device and displays a first image of the detected color, and displays a second image of a user-selected color beside the first image. Color data values are further displayed corresponding to the difference between displayed colors.
Abstract:
A system and method of characterizing a color variation of a surface includes a device having a light source and a plurality of sensors positioned at respective viewing angles. An algorithm is stored on and executable by a controller to cause the controller to direct a beam of light at the measurement location with the light source and measure the light leaving the measurement location with the sensors at a plurality of azimuth angles to obtain respective measured color values. The controller is configured to define a color vector function F(θ, φ) to represent the color variation of the surface. The controller is configured to determine the color vector function F(θ, φ) based at least partially on the respective measured color values. The system allows for a representation of color space of a surface at any azimuth and viewing angle.
Abstract:
A colorimeter, webcam, camera, spectrophotometer, scanner or other instrument measures the color composition and conditions and texture of a person's body part or presented beauty product and an individual custom formulation is produced. A presented beauty product may include foundation, concealer, tinted moisturizer, primer, skin care products, blush, nail polish, hair dye, lipstick, lip gloss, mascara, eye liner and eye shadow. The produced custom formulation may comprise foundation, concealer, tinted moisturizer, primer, skin care products, blush, nail polish, hair dye, lipstick, lip gloss, mascara, eye liner, eye shadow or other consumer products. A computer system 301 includes a processor 501 and a non-transitory, computer readable medium 500 containing machine readable instructions that accept data from a colorimeter 300 or like instrument and uses a main executable program 502 and a subroutine 504 for color analysis.
Abstract:
A device for inspecting a material with a coated surface includes a light source disposed above the surface that emits light in a wavelength range, at least one first camera for determining a color value of detected light reflected from the surface and an evaluation device. The first camera is disposed above a line located on the surface and configured with a first aperture to detect light from a first point of the line at a first viewing angle and light from a second point separate from the first point at a second viewing angle. The first camera determines a first color value of the first point light and a second color value of the second point light and the evaluation device compares the first and second color values or a color value difference with a predefined color setpoint value or predefined color setpoint value range.
Abstract:
A measurement system is capable of accurately aligning the corresponding measurement points of a plurality of measurement targets to evaluate the measurement targets from measurement results. A measurement system includes a measuring instrument and a PC, the measuring instrument includes a spectroscopic unit that measures a measurement point of a measurement target and a camera that images surroundings in real-time. The PC displays an evaluation image of continuous image information, which is imaged and displayed by the camera on a display screen so as to be superimposed on a reference image of still image information, which has been imaged and stored in memory. By comparing the data obtained by measuring the measurement point in the evaluation image when both images overlap each other and the measurement data of the point in the reference image, it is possible to perform positioning easily and compare the measurement data.

Abstract:
This specification describes various embodiments that relate to methods for providing a wideband colorimeter that can include more accurate outputs. In one embodiment, a narrowband instrument, such as a spectrometer or spectrograph, can be used for calibration of a wideband colorimeter, so that more accurate outputs can be provided. In one embodiment, an optical test equipment, which consists of both a wideband colorimeter and a narrowband spectrograph, can be used for providing a more accurately calibrated wideband colorimeter. As an example, a spectra-camera, which is a hybrid system consisting of both a wideband colorimeter and a narrowband spectrograph, can be used for simultaneous testing by both the wideband colorimeter and the narrowband spectrograph. By doing simultaneous testing, accurate calibration of the wideband colorimeter can be achieved. This specification further describes a mathematical model to characterize a wideband three channel colorimeter with a narrowband multiple channel spectrometer.

Techniques related to printing are described herein. According to an example, color patches are to be printed on a substrate. The substrate can be positioned on a substrate support for operation of a color sensor in a color measurement zone. Dimension and location in the substrate of the color patches are selected such that, for each color patch, at least a portion of the color patch can be positioned on a support projection in the color measurement zone. In some examples, color analysis techniques are described.
