The present invention discloses a homogenous cerium (Ce) catalyst composition comprising Ce(IV) complex alone, or Ce(IV) complex in a mixture with Ce(III) complex, that can significantly improve both LPG and soot combustion, resulting in higher flame temperatures, faster heating, reduced cooking time and reduced fuel consumption. The cerium(III) complex is cerium(III) 2-ethylhexanoate and the cerium(IV) complex is aqua(2-N-(2-hydroxyethylimino)-4-pentanoate) dinitrocerium(IV) [Ce(L1)(H2O)(NO3)2], wherein L1 is 2-N-(2-hydroxyethylimino)-4-pentanone.
Abstract:
The invention provides fuel mixtures containing biodiesel oil, glycerol, glycerol soluble compounds, surfactants and additives. The fuel mixtures are uniform, remain suspended in solution, and are resistant to phase separation. Upon combustion, the mixtures generate reduced CO, CO2, SOx, NOx and particulate matter emissions compared to petroleum fuels and offer improved engine performance over petroleum and water mixtures.

A synergistic mixture comprising from 1 to 99.9% by weight of compounds having structural elements (I) in which the free valencies on the oxygen atom and on the nitrogen atom may be combined to form a five-, six- or seven-membered ring and the benzene ring may also bear substituents at one or more of the free positions, and from 0.1 to 99% by weight of sulfur-containing organic compounds with antioxidant action. This synergistic mixture is suitable as a stabilizer for stabilizing inanimate organic material, especially mineral oil products and fuels, against the action of light, oxygen and heat.

The aviation fuel oil composition according to the present invention includes: a first base which is a fraction having a boiling range of 140 to 280° C. obtained through a step of hydrotreating a first feedstock containing a sulfur-containing hydrocarbon compound and an oxygen-containing hydrocarbon compound derived from an animal or vegetable oil and fat or a second feedstock which is an oil blend of the first feedstock and a petroleum-based base obtained by refining a crude oil; and a second base which is a fraction having a boiling range of 140 to 280° C. obtained from a heavy oil cracking apparatus.

The present disclosure is directed to a hydrocarbyl-substituted succinimide lubricity additive or a hydrocarbyl-substituted succinamide lubricity additive for low sulfur diesel fuel. The additive is derived from an olefin having little to no terminal double bonds and a very high proportion of internal double bonds. The succinimide or succinamide is made by combining the alkylated succinic anhydride with ammonia. Also provided is a method for reducing wear scarring in a compression ignition engine comprising providing to the engine a middle distillate fuel comprising an effective amount of the hydrocarbyl-substituted succinimide and/or hydrocarbyl-substituted succinamide. A method for reducing an average coefficient of friction of a middle distillate fuel in a compression ignition engine comprising providing to the engine the disclosed fuel is also disclosed. Moreover, there is disclosed a method for improving the average film thickness from the combustion of a middle distillate fuel in a compression ignition engine.
