    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the continuous coagulation of aqueous dispersions of graft rubbers suitable for modifying thermoplastic materials with a view to improving their impact resistance. According to said method, the dispersions are fed through a device comprising at least one shear element and a slotted stator containing a turning rotor in such a way that they are directed by the rotation of the rotor radially from the interior to the exterior within the shear element, and that after or during their movement through the stator and rotor slots they are sheared with such force that they coagulate. This method yields readily usable graft rubber coagulates even if the solid matter has an elastomer content of over 50 weight percent.

In (V): R = 1-20C alkyl, opt. with ether O atom(s) in the chain, 5-7C cycloalkyl or 6-15C aryl, opt. with 1-10C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy and/or 1-4C dialkylamino substit(s).; or an R -Z-R gp.; R , R = 1-10C alkyl, 5-7C cycloalkyl or 6-10C aryl, opt. with 1-10C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy and/or 1-4C dialkylamino substit(s).; Z = 1-10C alkyl, 1-4C dialkylamino, -O- or -SO2-. Also claimed are: (i) a method for producing the mixt.; and (ii) films, fibres, mouldings and foam made from the mixt.

    Abstract: The preparation of a polymer essentially comprising units of the formula I in which R and R are hydrogen or methyl, and R is C1-C18-alkyl, C5-C12-cycloalkyl, C6-C10-aryl or C6-C10-aryl-C1-C4-alkyl, where these radicals, with the exception of the C1-C18-alkyl radicals, may be up to trisubstituted by radicals selected from the group consisting of C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy and halogen, by reacting a polymer based on C1-C20-alkyl esters of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid or mixtures thereof with ammonia or a primary amine in an extruder, by vigorously mixing the ammonia or the primary amine with a melt of the polymer to be reacted at a maximum temperature of 250 DEG C before carrying out the imidation, and the use of the polymers prepared by this process for the production of thermoplastic mouldings, films or fibres, and mouldings, films or fibres made from these polymers.

    Abstract: Plastic materials with a melt flow index 230/2.16 of 0.1-100 g/10 minutes contain: (a1) propylene homopolymer with a melt flow index 230/2.16 of 0.1-100 g/10 minutes, or(a2) statistical copolymer of propylene and 2-10C alkene-1 with a comonomer content of less than 15 wt.%, or (a3) a mixt. of 25-97 wt.% of a copolymer of propylene and 0.1-15 wt.% 2-10C alkene-1 and 3-75 wt.% of another propylene copolymer contg. 15-80 wt.% 2-10C alkene-1 units, or(a4) a mixt. of 25-97 wt.% propylene homopolymer and 3-75 wt.% propylene/2-10C alkene-1 copolymer, with a comonomer content of 15-80 wt.% w.r.t. the second polymer, (b) a propylene or ethylene polymer grafted with 0.1-5 wt.% alpha , beta -unsatd. carboxylic acid or acid deriv., with a melt flow index 230/2.16 of 0.01-400 g/10 minutes, and (c) a nitrogen cpd. of formula (I): R =H, 1-30C alkyl, 2-30C alkyl or alk-1-enyl substd. with O atom(s) and/or amino gps., or a gp. of formula (II):HO-(CHR -CHR )m- (II)R =H, 1-4C alkyl or amino; andm=1-100. Also claimed are: (i) a process for the prodn. of the materials, by reacting components (a)-(c) together at 180-280 deg C and 1-100 bar for a mean residence time of 0.2-10 minutes; and(ii) film, fibres and mouldings made from the materials.
