이를 위하여, 본 발명은 차량에 장착되어 탑승자를 보호하는 장치에 있어서, 상기 차량의 도어 오픈 여부를 감지하는 제 1 감지수단; 승차자의 승차 여부 및 하차자의 하차 여부를 감지하는 제 2 감지수단; 지능형 사이드 스텝을 구동시키는 사이드 스텝 구동수단; 승차보호 조명 또는 하차보호 조명을 투사하는 조명 투사수단; 및 상기 제 1 감지수단이 차량의 도어 오픈을 감지하면 차량 내에 인입되어 있는 사이드 스텝을 인출하도록 상기 사이드 스텝 구동수단을 제어하고, 상기 제 2 감지수단이 하차자의 하차를 감지하면 하차보호 조명을 투사하도록 상기 조명 투사수단을 제어하는 제어수단을 포함한다.-
