    Abstract: The invention relates to the production of films from propene polymers, characterised in that propene polymers are employed which are obtained by continuous preparation of random copolymers of propene by polymerization of a monomer mixture by means of a Ziegel-Natta catalyst system in the gas phase in a central stirred bed of finely divided polymer with dissipation of the heat of polymerization by evaporative cooling, where the monomer mixture is constantly introduced into the polymerization zone and the polymer is constantly discharged from the polymerization zone, with the provisos that (a) the pressure and temperature in the polymerization zone are kept in a range which corresponds to the gaseous state of the monomer mixture, (b) gaseous, unconsumed monomer mixture is discharged from the polymerization zone and is re-introduced into the polymerization zone in liquid form, (c) the temperature in the polymerization zone is regulated by means of the amount of liquid monomer mixture introduced per time unit, and (d) the monomers consumed by polymerization are replaced, with the particular feature that - using a monomer mixture comprising principally propene, a little ethylene and very little hydrogen - the residence time of the monomer mixture in the polymerization zone is kept very short.

    Abstract: The background is the homopolymerisation of propylene in the gas phase with the removal of the heat of polymerisation by evaporative cooling, the propylene being introduced into the polymerisation zone (P) and the polymer (P) being removed, and (a) the pressure and temperature in (P) being held in a range corresponding to the gaseous state of the propylene, (b) gaseous, non-consumed propylene being removed from (P), liquefied, stored and reintroduced in the liquid state, (c) the temperature in (P) being controlled by measuring the temperature and changing the amount of liquid propylene introduced accordingly, (d) replacing the consumed propylene, and (e) using a Ziegler-Natta catalyst system which comprises a titanium-containing catalyst component (1) and an aluminium-containing catalyst component (2), (1) being a complex compound of (1.1) a substance of the formula TiCl3 +/- 0.33 AlCl3 and (1.2) a specific phosphorus compound and (2) being triethylaluminium. The characteristic feature is that the catalyst system additionally contains (3) tetramethylurea.

    Abstract: Moulding materials (I) comprise (A) polymers of propylene and ≤ 20 wt.% other monomers, contg. (B) 0.05-0.4 wt.% mono- or poly-basic carboxylic acid amide(s) with a mol. wt. of 150-600 and (C) 0.1-3.0 wt.% ethylene polymer with ≤ 20 wt.% comonomers, with a density of 0.890-0.945 g/cm and a MFI 190/2.16 of 10-100 g/10 mins.. Also claimed are films and mouldings made from (I), such as injection syringes. Pref. (A) is a polypropylene homopolymer or a copolymer of 90-99.9 wt.% propylene and 0.1-10 wt.% ethylene and/or 4-10C alk-1-ene. (B) is 13-docosenoic acid amide (erucamide) and/or 9-octadecenoic acid amide (oleamide), in amts. of 0.08-0.2 wt.%.
