Abstract: Un reactor (1) para reacciones gas/líquido o gas/líquido/sólido que tiene un eje longitudinal vertical y una entrada (2) para una corriente de alimentación de líquido o líquido/sólido en la región superior de el reactor y una entrada (3) para una corriente gaseosa en la región inferior del reactor (1), que comprende - una o más cámaras (4) ubicadas una encima de la otra en la dirección longitudinal, donde - cada cámara (4) está pegada al fondo por un plato de fondo hermético a líquido (5), - cada cámara (4) se conecta por medio de un rebosadero de líquido (6) hacia el espacio interior del reactor abajo del plato de fondo hermético a líquido (5) que conecta la cámara, y se retira una corriente de producto líquido por entre el rebosadero de líquido (6) de la cámara extrema de abajo, - el espacio de gas (7) debajo de cada plato de fondo, hermético a líquido, se conecta a la cámara (4) localizada inmediatamente por encima de la misma mediante uno o más tubos de entrada de gas (8) que abre(n), cada uno, hacia un módulo distribuidor de gas (9) provisto de aberturas (10) para salida de gas por debajo de la superficie líquida en la cámara (4), - y cada cámara (4) está provista de al menos una bandeja guía (11) que se dispone verticalmente alrededor de cada módulo distribuidor de gas (9) y cuyo extremo superior está por debajo de la superficie líquida y cuyo extremo inferior está por encima del plato de fondo hermético a líquido (5) de la cámara (4) y el cual divide cada cámara (4) en uno o más espacios hacia los cuales no fluye gas, caracterizado porque el módulo distribuidor de gas (9) está constituido de secciones rectas de tubo (14, 15).

Abstract: A process for preparing biphenols of the general formula I by reaction of monophenols of the general formula II where the radicals R1, R2 and R3 are each, independently of one another, hydrogen, alkyl, aryl or arylalkyl having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, in the presence of an oxidant in a reactor, wherein a) the reactor comprises no stationary internals which act as baffles, b) a total of not more than 0.6 mol of oxidant is used per one mol of monophenol, and c) the oxidant is introduced either continuously or discontinuously in a plurality of portions over a period of from 10 minutes to 24 hours, with the amount of oxidant introduced per unit time not being constant over the total period of time but instead being varied.

Abstract: 1413356 Fibrids of thermoplastic materials BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 23 Feb 1973 [25 Feb 1972] 8938/73 Heading B5B Fibrids (i.e. short fibres) of a thermoplastics material are made by introducing a high-speed propulsive jet and a slower-moving stream of a liquid co-currently into a mixing tube arranged coaxially with the jet, whereby a shear gradient is set up in the mixing tube between the highspeed jet and the slower-moving liquid stream, and feeding the molten thermoplastics material through a die into the region of the shear gradient, whereby the thermoplastics material is broken up into fibres by the action of shear stresses within the region of the shear-gradient. Specified thermoplastics materials include polyethylene, polypropylene and their waxes and extended waxes, polyamides, polyesters, polyvinyl chloride and polystyrene. In Fig. 1, the apparatus is enclosed in container 4. Melt is supplied via 6 to outlet orifice 2; the spinning medium, suitably water, is supplied via 5 to the outlet orifice 1 of the propulsive jet; 3 is the impulse exchange chamber or mixing tube. If the relatively slow-moving stream of liquid entrained from the container is replaced by liquid coming from a pump, the container may be dispensed with, as in Fig. 2, where 7 is the feed-line for the slow-moving medium (water) spinning being effected in tube 3 which acts as impulse exchange chamber.

Abstract: Production of pigmented resin powders by finely dispersing dispersions of pigments in solutions of polymeric materials in at least one organic solvent in water containing a protective colloid while supplying mixing energy, and removing the solvent. A preferred method is to introduce one or more jets of water containing protective colloid at the rate of 5 to 100 m/sec into animpulse exchange chamber together with the dispersion issuing in the immediate vicinity of the orifice(s), and to remove the solvent. The method avoids crosslinking and provides pigmented resin powders of consistently reproducible color which are suitable for conventional powdered-resin coating methods.

Horizontal distributor pipes (15) are at 40-90% of reactor chamber (4) depth.
