Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide pile cloth resistant to the falling-down of pile and the generation of white blurring, giving soft feeling to the skin and having a high- quality appearance. CONSTITUTION:The pile yarn to be used in this pile cloth is composed of >=3 kinds of conjugate fibers and non-conjugate fibers having different conjugation ratios or crimping degrees. The falling-down resistance of the pile can be improved by using a conjugate fiber having an average single fiber fineness of >=2-de and blending the conjugate fiber and a non-conjugate fiber to the pile yarn in an amount of >=30wt.% each. The single fiber fineness of the non- conjugate fiber is preferably =0.15-wt.% each of titanium dioxide.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a nonwoven fabric free from nep and unevenness of thickness, excellent in surface quality and having high stretchability by forming the nonwoven fabric using a conjugate fiber having both of thermal bonding property and crimpability. CONSTITUTION:A low melting point copolyester having 80-170 deg.C melting point is used as a sheath part or an island part and a polyester obtained by joining PET and a copolymer having melting point 20 deg.C higher than the copolyester and different in thermal shrinkage in a weight ratio of (40/60) to (60/40) is used as a core part or sea part, and the copolyester and the polyester are conjugated so that the weight ratio of sheath part or island part/core part or sea part may be (10/90) to (30/70) to form the objective thermally bondable latent crimped conjugate yarn. In this conjugate fiber, developed crimp number in no-load heat treatment at 100 deg.C is >=40 top/25mm and a ratio Y of crimp number N before crimple developing treatment and crimp degree satisfies the formula 8 basis weight is formed using a short fiber having 20-120mm fiber length of the conjugate fiber and then subjected to relax heat treatment at 100-150 deg.C to provide the objective nonwoven fabric.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an acrylic fiber having excellent needle-punching properties, hardly causing cutting of fibers by providing an acrylic fiber having specific physical properties with a finishing oil containing specific amounts of a fatty acid amide, a phosphoric ester and a nonionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic fiber having =20%, preferably >=30% tensile elongation is provided with 0.2-2% owf finishing oil comprising 20-50wt.% fatty acid amide of the formula (R is 12-22C alkyl; m is 1-5), 15-40wt.% phosphoric ester and 20-70wt.% nonionic surfactant in the spinning process of the fiber and then heat-treated preferably for supplying mechanical crimping and elongation improvement to give an acrylic fiber for nonwoven fabric having excellent needle-punching property. The prepared nonwoven fabric shows excellent appearance and is suitable for uses such as wiping cloth or artificial leather.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject heat-treating unit capable of freely shifting the heating zone in the vertical direction in a state where the heat-treating unit is fixed and of also freely selecting the heating zone length in producing fibers different, e.g. in the single yarn fineness, the kind of polymer and the take-off speed. CONSTITUTION:In a filament heat-treating unit comprising at least a heating cylinder and designed so as to heat the atmosphere of a high-speed span filament cooled and coagulated once, this heat-treating unit for high speed spinning is characterized by heat-insulating cylinders 3 and 4 detachably installed on one or both ends of the inner peripheral surface of the heating cylinder 1. According to the kind of fiber, the distance from the nozzle to the heating zone can be changed in a state where the heat-treating unit is fixed. Various kinds of fibers, therefore, can be produced by the same spinning machine in a state where the heat-treating unit is fixed. Consequently, the faults in the conventional technique, i.e., problems, e.g. about extension of a new device for shifting the heat-treating unit, control of the thread handling area and accuracy of setting of the heat-treating unit can be solved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably obtain in high-speed spinning the title fiber to be used in thermal insulating materials, electrical material parts, etc., by melt spinning of pitch incorporated with an additive capable of enhancing the critical spinning speed. CONSTITUTION:For example, pref. pitch to give a yarn 200kg/mm in tensile strength with optical anisotropy developed is incorporated with an additive capable of enhancing the critical spinning speed, i.e. at least one kind of substance selected from polystyrene and polyphenylene sulfide in finely granular or powdery form followed by heating the blend in a spinning machine to be made fully compatible and then making into a yarn, which is then insolubilized and carbonized at 900-1,700 deg.C in an inert atmosphere followed by graphitization at 1,700-3,000 deg.C, thus obtaining the objective carbon fiber.
