Abstract: Se da a conocer un proceso para separar continuamente la trietanolamina, por la destilacion de una mezcla de la monoetanolamina, dietanolamina y trietanolamina, junto con los eteres de la etanolamina y el agua obtenida por la reaccion del amoniaco con el oxido de etileno en la fase liquida, bajo una presion sobreatmosferica y a temperatura elevada, en la cual la mezcla se destila en dos etapas. la fraccion de punto de ebullicion bajo y la fraccion de punto de ebullicion alta se sacan y descargan en la primera etapa y la fraccion con punto de ebullicion intermedio comprende mas del 99.4% en peso de la trietanolamina y menos del 0.2% en peso de la dietanolamina, se destila en la segunda etapa. La destilacion de la mezcla se lleva a cabo preferiblemente en una primera columna y una segunda columna, conectada a la primera columna, en una columna de pared de division.
