    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out an economical, selective and efficient method for producing an alkanolamine having improved color quality as opposed to a conventional method. SOLUTION: This method for producing the alkanolamine having the improved color quality and good in color stability comprises using a supported heterogeneous catalyst comprising a noble metal of Re, Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir, Pt and/or Ag and a carrier material selected from the group of active carbon, α-aluminum oxide, zirconium dioxide and titanium dioxide as a hydrogenating catalyst in which the catalyst has a prescribed hardness of at least 10 N cutting hardness and prescribed strengths of at least 30 N laterial pressure strength and at least 25 N stamping strength in the case of active carbon as the carrier material in the method for producing the alkanolamine having the improved color quality by treating an alkanolamine using hydrogen at a high temperature in the presence of the hydrogenating catalyst. Thereby, the alkanolamine is economically produced.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 5C- and/or 6C-olefins from 4C- olefins. SOLUTION: This method for producing 5C- and/or 6C-olefins from a 4C- olefinic starting substance flow comprises the following processes: (a) a metathesis reaction process where butene in the starting substance flow is converted into a mixture of 2C- to 6C-olefins with butane in the presence of a catalyst containing at least one of group VI b, VII b or VII transition metal compounds; (b) a process where the obtained reaction product flow is fractionated to discharge a fraction A comprising 2C- to 4C-olefins and butane, or comprising 2C- and 3C-olefins and to obtain a fraction comprising 4C- to 6C-olefins and butane; (c) a process for obtaining a fraction B comprising butene and butane, a fraction C comprising pentene and methylbutene and a fraction D comprising hexene and methylpentene by fractionation; and (d) a process for recirculating the whole or a part of the fraction B and/or the fraction C to the process (a) and for taking out the fraction D as a product.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for preparing propylene and hexene from a raffinate II feed comprising olefinic 4C-hydrocarbons. SOLUTION: This process for preparing the propene and hexene comprises (a) a step of obtaining a mixture comprising ethene, propene, butenes, 2-pentene, 3-hexene and butanes by a metathesis reaction in which butenes present in the feed stream are reacted with ethene in the presence of a transition metal catalyst using 0.05-0.6 molar equivalent of ethene based on the butenes, (b) a step of obtaining a low-boiling fraction A comprising 2-3C olefins and a high- boiling fraction comprising 4-6C olefins and butanes by fractional distillation, (c) a step of obtaining an ethene-containing fraction and a propene-containing fraction by fractionally distilling the low boiling fraction A, (d) a step of obtaining a low-boiling fraction B comprising butenes and butanes, a pentene- containing intermediate-boiling fraction C and a hexene-containing high-boiling fraction D by fractional distillation of the high-boiling fraction obtained from (b) and (e) a step of returning the fractions B and C to the step (a) and discharging the fraction D as a product.
