Abstract: Procedimiento para separar gotitas de líquido de una corriente de gas que las contiene, en un separador centrífugo de gotas con un eje longitudinal vertical y con una sección transversal circular, con una camisa (1) y con 5 caperuzas (2) en los extremos superior e inferior de la camisa (1), con un suministro (3) tangencial de la corriente de gas que contiene gotitas de líquido en la camisa (1), así como con una tubuladura de evacuación (4) para el líquido separado en el separador centrífugo de gotas en la zona de la caperuza (2) inferior y con una tubuladura de salida de gas (7) para la corriente de gas purificada en el separador centrífugo de gotas en la zona de la caperuza (2) superior, caracterizado porque a través de dos, tres o más orificios de entrada (9) dispuestos de forma tangencial y simétrica en el contorno de la caperuza (2) superior se suministra un líquido de lavado en el mismo sentido que la corriente de gas que contiene gotitas de líquido.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing polyisobutenes by polymerizing isobutene in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst in liquid organic phase, terminating the reaction by admixing the organic phase with an aqueous terminator in a dynamic mixer which has a rotationally symmetric mixing chamber formed from one circumferential wall and two end walls, and a mixing rotor driven such that it rotates therein, the organic phase being introduced through a first inlet orifice provided in the circumferential wall and the aqueous terminator via a second inlet orifice provided in the circumferential wall, and removing a finely dispersed mixture of the organic phase and of the terminator through an outlet orifice provided in the circumferential wall and feeding it to a phase separation. The process serves to prepare high-reactivity polyisobutenes and/or polyisobutenes with narrow molecular weight distribution.
